My mother was at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Miamisburg for ten days. What I liked best about them was that the physical and occupational therapists were top-notch. I would give them a high five. They were very good and very responsive. They had good analysis and good therapy. The staff, I thought, was very poor. They were barely adequate, especially on Sundays. On Sundays, they don't have any therapy or any administrative people in the facility. I found that when she was there on two different Sundays, the staff gathered in the hallway and talked to themselves. It was very hard to get any assistance. The whole process was not explained for the food. They had three different types of diets. What I understand from my mother is that you didn't know what kind of food you were getting. You never had any options. It was just one meal. Many times things were missing that she was supposed to get off of the menu. They usually said, "Oh, that's because we ran out. We didn't have any." There was never a substitute that was offered. The food was just kind of bland looking, too. The presentation wasn't very good at all. It's a brand new facility so it was very clean. The layout was good. There wasn't a lot of direction, though. If you were there for the first time and didn't know where somebody was, it was difficult to try to get someone to assist you. The staff just seemed kind of indifferent. Again on Sundays, the staff did nothing. If you went up to the desk, nobody acknowledged you on the floor. You had to push to get a question answered. Most of the time if you ask them something, they would say "I don't know." They don't want to engage at all. During the week, it was a little better, but there was no explanation when you got checked in. It's just like, "Okay, you're checked in. We checked your vitals, and you're just here."
