I moved into Salida Woods. Very nice, the staff very nice, the facility very nice. And so far, I'm happy here. The staff was great. My apartment is a one-bedroom with a kitchenette. It's very nice and appropriate for what I need. They provide lunch and dinner every day. And I can either go down to the dining room or they'll bring it to my room wherever I choose. They do housekeeping, and from time to time they offer trips out to the community. There's an activity area, no library. And they do have a courtyard outside in a garden. I just really like it here. They treat you well, and it's a nice place to live.

I went on a tour of Salida Woods. They all seemed very kind, but it seemed pretty full. I was worried about the amount of care that my dad would get because of how many people were there. I went right around lunchtime, it was jampacked in the lobby and there were residents talking to the nurses and trying to get help. It was very confusing for a person coming in for a tour, so it was not a good first impression. I really liked the person who gave the tour, she was very empathetic and listened when I talked about my dad's condition. She tried to give as much information about the place as she could and what they could do for him. The facility itself had a very homey feeling. They had a nice courtyard with lots of grass and trees and stuff for sitting outside and looking at nature. It seemed to be very clean, they didn't have any kind of odors in the room they showed me, and the hallways.
