My mother has moved into the Life Care Center of Medina. It's clean and it's been a good experience. It's a very nice room, and they keep everything clean. She has a soft meal, so she eats her food and she seems to like it. The staff calls me with any problems or anything that's going on with my mom, so they're very attentive and friendly when I go in to visit her. My mom is always kept clean. I've not had a problem with her care going in and seeing her not looking well. Her clothes are always clean. My mom doesn't speak, so I was worried that she would have a hard time. She has a letterboard that she talks with. I was worried that she'd have a hard time communicating with them, but they take time with her. They do a good job. Mom always looks nice. They have to feed her too, and she's even gaining weight since she's been there.

My mom is in the Life Care Center of Medina. They are wonderful in communicating with us, she's already gained five pounds. They're doing physical therapy with her because she's wheelchair bound now, because they never did anything with her at the other place she was at. It's not privately owned, it is owned by a company, so once she runs out of money, she will automatically be able to go on Medicaid, and we won't have to move her. They have a hospice program in there, so that when her end times come, we can move her directly to the hospice. They deal strictly with Alzheimer's and memory care, they're all trained to handle those issues. So far, the staff has been wonderful, they have been working with her, they make sure she's always hydrated, and she hasn't had any medical problems since she's gotten there. They take her out of her room, and put her with other people so she's not alone all of the time. She's having social interaction. The food evidently is excellent cause she's gained five pounds. She says she loves the food. She says she likes all of the nurses, she said they come in her room all the time and ask her how she's feeling, what she's doing, and if there's anything they can get for her. They make you feel like they're there for you, and they're there to take care of Mother, and answer any questions you have. They make you feel important or part of it.

This place is filthy and under staffed. Residents have to wait a half hour or longer after pushing the button for a nurse. My brother called the desk one night as he was on the phone for a half hour with my mom and she was upset as she had already waited for 15 minutes for someone to come to help her to the bathroom. When speaking to the supervisor on duty their excuse is it's after dinner they are probably picking up dinner trays. He replied that was no excuse for someone to wait that long. What if she had an emergency? Their response was sir your right and I don't know what to say. My mother has waited an hour to have some one help her to the bathroom many times. She has fallen while there(someone was to be with her) and broke her shoulder and had a bed pan sitting in her bathroom with dried feces on it for a week. It's amazing that this place had a high score on medicare.gov. The staff is very loving, caring and the only positive that Life Care Center of Medina has going for them!

My mom has been here over a year. She has some genuine health issues that need 2 paid attention to. My mom was walking on walker & walker unit with resting seat when admitted; has not walked for months now. She has heart & circulation issues, so it is very crucial to get exercise & to not lose her ability to walk. Recently she is nto eating supper at all due 2 the lack of quality & tasteful food. Social worker was rude & apparently does not care whn I tried talking with her. Mom recently suffered with extreme pain in her legs & feet due to spasms for 3-4hrs. I as a trained medical assistant, some 25 yrs ago, knew as soon as she told me that this denotes a low magnesium level & that having been given a magnesium supplement, which is not prescription, the cramping/spasms could hv subsided probably within 20 min to 1/2 hour. The games provided for entertainment and the spiritual/church type activites, according to mom, are quite good; but to me this is 2ndary to her getting good health care & keeping her mobile on her feet.

I went to the assisted living center to visit my grandmother about a couple weeks ago or maybe a month. She has been staying there for quite some time now, I would say approximately 3 years. When we first checked out the facility it seemed very neat and the employees were very nice and cooperative. My grandmother also enjoyed the visit and liked it very much. A couple weeks later we moved her into there and ever since then things have gone smoothly so far and I am really happy. The staff meets her every need and does not complain at all. I have been there many times and everyone there still has a smile on their face every time. My grandmother always tells me the activities she does too. Such as; bingo, word puzzles, and they even have a Wii game console set up so they can play bowling and tennis. Overall my experience there is always positive. It is a really nice place to be and I would highly recommend it to any other families that are searching for an assisted living facility.

The Life Care Center of Medina is a very nice assisted living facility. The staff there is always very friendly and willing to help out their residents and even the visiting family members. I have never felt uncomfortable while visiting my family there, nor have I ever felt like they were being mistreated. It's a very clean facility and they try to provide many activities for the residents to do together as well as with visiting family/friends.

My mom is a resident at Life Care. Although I am not acquainted with other facilities, I have been pleased with the environment she is in. She seems well taken care of and cared for by the staff. They have been friendly and with some, cordial, but always pleasant and helpful with any needs or questions I've had. The outdoor areas are especially nice for residents to visit. I also have noted several in-house activities available for residents who choose to attend. It has been a good experience for me as a family member. I am glad, since I live out of state, to know my mom seems well taken care of.
