My sister will move into Glenwood Community. We did the independent living, but we did the one in the main building, not the cottages. The cottages were too far away. The tour was excellent. They have bent over backward for us. They're very compassionate, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. I only worked with one staff member, but she was outstanding. The facility was very clean and very well kept and it had a lot to offer for activities and things. The dining room was restaurant-style and my sister would have a bigger choice of food options. They have the hairdresser, exercise, housekeeping, anything that she would want, transportation to doctors and shopping, raised garden beds if you want to do a little flower or vegetable gardening, and they allow pets. I could probably think of a dozen more, but that's what comes to mind right now.

The Pines was excellent. It's the assisted living of Glenwood Community. The setup was very nice, and we liked it because it had an area set up for people to garden. Residents could have their own area to garden, to grow flowers, fruit, or vegetables. They have an excellent library, they have Bingo, crafts, music, and you can go fishing in the pond. My father liked that. The people were very friendly, and we were impressed with it. I've eaten the food in the independent living section, and they have the same kitchen as in the assisted living. It was good food. The staff was excellent, did not make us feel rushed, and was very caring.

I loved what I found visiting this community. My grandmother was an incredible woman, in great shape until she died. She did not need a nursing home, but as she got into her upper 80's, she grew lonely, as most of her friends had passed on or gone into nursing homes. She checked herself into the Pines because she had a lot of friends living there, and because she knew she could make many more. It may have been because this was viewed more as a retirement community than a nursing home, but the staff was more like that of an upscale hotel than a living community. The meals were absolutely delicious, with specials made different every day, along with a consistant menu which was great for people who needed routine, consistancy, or had strict diet regulations. I really loved the decor, the landscaping was lovely, and every night someone came around to the rooms with free candy and snacks. I don't know anyone who doesn't want free Twix and Fritos! My grandmother has now passed away, but what a wonderful place for her to spend the end of her life. It was clean, comfortable, and very much life home. I actually enjoyed visiting her, even as a college student with a bit of a fear of the elderly.

I really enjoyed this facility. The people here took really good care of my mother. I made unscheduled visits to see just how well my mother was being taken care of. To my surprise the staff was great. The place is very clean and the other members of the facility are pleasant to be around. Overall, this facility is a place for anyone looking to be taken care of.

The staff is very nice and understanding with the patients. The staff seemed stressed at times because they have duties that they don't know about until the exact time of the dutie. Everything is clean at Glenwood. The staff does a magnificent job of keeping all bathrooms and patient rooms clean. My grandmother felt very peaceful and appreciated at Glenwood. I would suggest it to anyone.
