This place is not where you want a loved one to stay. the aids are too busy on cell phones to do there jobs. call lights go unanswered for long periods of time. The nursing staff could care less if you need help. Residents are made fun of in front of everyone. Meals in the dining room is is anything but enjoyable, with yelling and unruly patience acting up. Chair alarms are going off and no one comes to check and see why. The more help a resident needs the less help they get, staff can't be bothered. This place is horrible. I can't see how the state lets this place stay open.

I wish we would have been given info on Crestmont before my sister was put there to recover from being in ICU for a month for double pneumonia and influenza A. If we had visited we never would have allowed Humana to put her there. The atmosphere in general is not inviting; it feels lonely and unwelcoming, starting with the evening lady at the front desk. The rooms are big enough but the beds look very uncomfortable to have to be in a long time. The worst thing about Crestmont was how my sister was treated and NOT taken care of. She had come from Cleveland Clinic and had a trach tube in her neck. She had just woken up after having been sedated while in ICU; her muscles had been paralyzed and so were like jelly. My sister is 53 years old and intelligent, but she was treated like an elderly person who had lost all their wits. She needed attention for bowel accidents but pressing the call button didn't bring her LPN in sometimes for an hour. Her trach tube needed suctioning but again no one would respond to her call for over an hour. She has a stomach condition with food restrictions but somehow that didn't get to the dietician; she kept getting foods she couldn't eat; they got frustrated with her as to why she wasn't eating. One day her LPN chastised her for being such a burden; said she couldn't pay attention to any other patients because my sister was being so demanding and needy. My sister was in Crestmont for just about a week. One morning she was having her hair washed in her bathroom when she passed out and stopped breathing. Once in Lakewood Hospital ER, her blood pressure went down to 71/42 and even 67/38-I thought she was going to die. They took blood samples, got a line in for saline and took her up to ICU where they gave her meds to bring her BP back up. Diagnosis: Severe dehydration. She was supposed to be getting fluids but couldn't hold the cup herself because she had no arm strength and a little hand strength. Yet no one would check in on her to see if she needed to drink. So, she almost died because of the ineptitude of the nursing staff at Crestmont North. My husband says it is a poster child-so to speak- for all the horror stories you've heard about nursing homes. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there unless I really wanted them to be neglected and ignored and die.

The home was dirty, the staff was unprofessional and rude and the atmosphere was awful. I felt that the staff did not care about their patients. They used curse words with each other, made fun of residents and seemed unwilling to help visitors. I would never leave a family member at this place. They should be ashamed of the way they treat residents. The residents I spoke with seemed unhappy about being at Crestmont, disliked the way they were treated and expressed feeling that they were a burden. No one should ever feel like that at a nursing home. The floors and walls were dirty. Resident rooms were not kept up, I saw stains on furniture and tears in the drapes. What an awful place!!
