My uncle was in Jennings, it was nice but they were too high. They do rehab, the food was good and the staff was very nice. Every time I went, the staff was very accommodating to him, they were always coming in and checking on him. I could tell that he liked the care they gave. He was there for rehab, so he mainly did walking and moving his arms. There's a McDonald's, Wendy's, and Taco around the area.

I’m the relative of a former resident of the Jennings nursing home in Garfield Heights, Ohio. After many negative experiences we relocated them to a much nicer facility. I would NOT recommend allowing a family member to reside there. Residents are subject to long waits for care. Some STNAs will visit a residents room to turn off the service light, tell the resident they will be back rather than resolving the reason for the light. Then residents have long additional waits for the STNA to return. Discussions with the STNAS regarding patient care were met with comments such “you have to understand, we are under staffed, you need to be patient or if you don’t like it MOVE! “ Although all STNAs do not have this attitude, the level of care here isn’t worth the high monthly cost. Frequent discussions about service issues with middle and top management didn’t yield changes in the service levels. It’s sad that nursing homes continue to accept residents knowing the care will not meet residents expectations.

They have new memory care at Jennings in Garfield Heights. The young man that did the tour was very informative. I liked that it's a new unit that they've opened up. There are only 18 residents that will be there. It's locked down. I like it. They have private rooms. I like that if there's something on the menu and my mom wanted something else, then they would get that for them. It's 24-hour care, so someone is there all the time. The biggest issue for us was the location for the families. It was all centrally located for where we all live. The other thing is, I like that it's new and there are only 18 patients that they'll have. To me, that's a big thing. The staff that showed me around was very knowledgeable. It's new, so it's clean, and where we came in, it was very bright, and I like that. It's got a lot of windows, so I do like that. They have a lot of activities. The staff did say that you can request that they be put in the common area. Whatever your needs are, you need to facilitate that to them so they can make that happen as much as they can. For example, we get my mom up and we don't let her go back like maybe lay down for a nap like we don't want that for the most part. So he said you can request that and then they can put her in the common area to watch people go back and forth or what-have-you. They have activities there that I think would be good for her, even though if she's just sitting. And if you request that she just sit and watches because she can't participate, they would do that.

Jennings was very nice. We might have considered them, except they didn’t do any field trips or anything like that, and my husband would enjoy that because he used to love going for a ride. They had a nice, sunny dining room and a courtyard where the residents could walk out. The courtyards weren’t locked or anything, so when it was nice weather, they could walk outside, and we appreciated that.

I’ve eaten at Jennings Assisted Living. The food was quite good. They keep the place very clean and very pleasant. I would recommend it. In fact, I told the director of admissions that if I needed a place to go, I would go there.

I visited Jennings Homes and it was very clean. It looked like a rest home and everything was up-dated. The staff was very courteous. They seemed fine. The rooms were average sized. The activities and social recreations were very good. They had a facility for watching tv ans things like that. However, it was expensive and I would only recommend it to others if they had all the money in the world.

My Mom was a resident in assisted living at the Jennings Center for 6 years. She has now transitioned into the nursing care section of the facility. Our experience with the Jennings Center was wonderful. Mom's apartment had a small living room, walk-through kitchen area with microwave and apartment style refridgerator, a separate large bedroom area and an in-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The apartment was large and there was another larger living room area on her floor that we could use when extended family came to visit. The Jennings Center provided a range of activities for residents. Many take place in the dining area on the main floor. There is also a preschool located in the facility, which makes for a good synergy with intergenerational programming. As Mom's needs changed, she added more services, like medication administration. Eventually when she needed to transition to the nursing home, the staff was very helpful in assisting us. The Jennings Center also has a great Wellness Center on site where Mom could see a doctor or dentist. There is also a beauty salon in-house. The Jennings Center provides a range of options including independent living apartments, assisted living, a memory unit, and nursing home. The staff is very professional, warm, and caring.

I have visited the Facility a few times to provide transportation to an old friend of the family who lives there, First thing I noticed when I walked in was the shopping carts they keep next to the doors for resident to pick up their groceries from the car instead of carrying it, I thought it was great for older people it made their trip faster and easier, then as I walked in I notice how neat the place was,it smelled very nice and it was very clean, also staff were very polite and kind they offered help when we got back from shopping, and I was surprised because I have passed by more then 20 employees and they all knew my friend, it showed me how such caring people they are even thou they have so many other residents living there, I ended up referring two people there which one is living there ow and she loves the place.

My grandmother has been a resident at The Jennings Center for the past 2 years. She lives in a small apartment with a bathroom and a bedroom. She is able to keep a small refrigerator in her apartment and was also able to port over a great majority of the possessions from her home. The staff at The Jennings Center has always treated my grandmother as an adult. This may seem like a silly statement (of course they should treat her like an adult), but it has been my experience that some retirement facilities treat the elderly as children and in doing do take away their dignity. This is not the case at The Jennings Center.Further, in all of my visits to The Jennings Center I have always felt that my grandmother is being watched over with care. There is no question that the staff is invested in her well being and that their primary role is to preserve her health. Finally, the facility itself is beautiful and also located in close proximity to a hospital. This is important to me because if anything were to happen my grandmother could be quickly taken to an urgent care facility (ER).All in all, The Jennings Center is an excellent facility and one that I have recommended time and time again.

This is a somewhat older facility. Facility is clean and well lit. Not out dated by any means but not as modern or expensive as some newer senior living homes in this area. There seemed to be some staff turnover but the the staff assigned to my grandmother where kind and attentive. I hated to think about cost when it came to my grandmother's care but the reality is long-term care is very expensive. Jennings would not be my first option but factoring the cost and convenient location, it was a good choice.
