My mother was at Friendship Village of Dublin. It was very nice. The grounds were kept well. The inside of the lobby was nice. The rooms were nice and spacious and they had a refrigerator and microwave. She had her own bathroom. The staff was not attentive though. My mom would wait maybe 45 minutes for someone to help her to go to the bathroom and then sometimes they would come and say, "Oh, I'm sorry, you're going to have to wait. We're delivering food right now." They said they were not short-staffed or anything, but they did not help a lot. The food was OK. It was nothing to write home about, but they had a nice menu. For some reason, they always had her meat all chopped up. I think they were afraid she was going to choke because she didn't have her teeth. They had a calendar of events, but Mom didn't get to go to any of those. It's really expensive there. I would like their staff to treat their patients a little kinder and have patience.

Friendship Village of Dublin seemed very nice. It was just a little too big. I think they have 500 residents and they have four dining rooms, which I think they needed to handle that amount of people. The apartments were adequate. One of the little drawbacks was we liked to have a balcony, but they only have very limited balcony space. The grounds were very nice, very well kept, and very clean. Aside from the tour person, I met someone from the physical therapy department and she was very nice and helpful, too. She explained the things they do there. They had a lot of activities. They have a very nice Olympic size pool where they do a lot of exercises and a workshop for woodworking where I saw a lot of gentlemen working on some projects, such as making cabinets.

It was very nice, had a lot of amenities, and a good option. They had several classes, a gym, pool, outdoor space, and several dining rooms with different food choices. The staff who toured us around was knowledgeable and thorough. The apartments we looked at were nice, not necessarily the biggest ones, but they were more in our price range.

My grandfather attended this facility when his dementia started kicking in. After seeing the relatively poor facility my grandmother lived in in another city, we wanted to make the right decision. I guess we got lucky. Friendship village is a lovely nursing home. The staff has been nothing but helpful and nice; they have really focused on creating a friendship (hence the name of the place) with their residents. Most of the staff knows my grandpa by name, which is good because there's such an abundant work force. A lot of the servers in the dining hall even stop by to talk to me. They share stories about my grandpa and tell of how much they love him. In all, I really like where he's at. I know he's in good hands.
