I really liked Corban Commons because of what they had to offer for the seniors. They have activities that they do during the day. They actually offer where they have meals on wheels delivered during the afternoon, and the residents can pay $1 a day for lunch if they want to for the lunches, which is great because then it means one less meal that I have to worry about. And then, they have the activities coordinator. I met her personally. and she showed me a calendar of the activities they have going on every month. The facility is really nice, and the location is fairly close to the freeway which would be easier for my sister and I to get there pretty easily. I felt that the coordinator for the actual facility was very nice, and she works well with me. She helped me out with a lot of things I didn't really know about. Her name was Vanessa, and I felt that she went above and beyond the call of duty to help me as far as finding out information about their facility and what they offer.

The community is in an area with high crime. There are children who live near by that constantly vandalize the property and cars are not safe. Other than that the building is nice and pretty secure. There is an outside patio with a decent view. Apartments are nice and fairly modern. They have one and two room apartments available among three floors. The foyer area is nice and has nice furniture. They also have a banquet hall (of sorts) where one could host events. They plan activities for the residents including grocery shopping trips. They also plan outings to places like the omish country and the farmers market. They try to make sure that residents are safe by providing assistance. Residents have a thing that hangs on the door that reads "i'm okay or i need assistance." This lets empties know how they are doing. My grandmother has complained about the management not being very helpful or concerned about the resident's well being. I went into her office to inform her that my grandmother was in the hospital and she never even looked up from her cell phone. How's that for being concerned about the residents? The community is filled with mostly African Americans and from what I understand the rent is not too bad. Electric is included, which is nice. Overall it's a pretty decent place to live, but definitely not the best.
