My husband has been living in the memory care area at Carriage Court of Kenwood for five weeks now. It's very clean and pretty. They have a lot of activities for people with dementia. They give my husband his insulin shots which I had trouble finding assisted living that would do that. His studio apartment is very nice and large with a refrigerator in it and a place to have a coffee machine. He also has two windows to look out. The staff is super friendly.

Carriage Court of Kenwood was very nice and very well done. I toured both the memory care and assisted living and it looked like they had a good caring staff. They showed us everything we wanted to see and answered all of our questions. The facilities were clean and nice, but it looked like it needed to be updated a little, which they said they were in the process of doing. The rooms were a little smaller than what I'm used to, but they were very nice and clean. They had all the usual amenities, like a salon, a rehab facility, and meeting rooms. We were there while they were preparing a meal and it smelled good. The dining area was also clean, large, and well-lit.

Before we toured the Carriage Court of Kenwood I had mentioned that we might need to do Medicare or Medicaid, but they do not accept that, they want out of pocket. I really like the facility, even though it's not one of the newest buildings out there. I loved that it was smaller and that it had been around for over 20 years. They seem to have a good staff and know what they're doing. They showed me one empty room, it was fine, and I loved that it had a window and it was a nice size. I saw the main common area, and then there was the kitchen area in the memory care. I liked their back patio.

We have toured Carriage Court of Kenwood before, and we thought it was very positive. That's the place my uncle was very interested in, so we'll be going there. It was very clean, it was on the small side, but we liked that for my uncle. He actually knew people who were there because he had done karaoke there before. He had come and performed there for residents previous to going to view it. They accept small animals, which is very important to him. The pricing seemed to be in line with the going rate in that area. They do different things, because my uncle would come in and help entertain them, but I don't think that we personally were there during the time that they were doing something. We just happened to go in and visit. They do outings and other things. I recall they have a very nice exterior area where people could go outside and sit. They had haircuts and things like that and an exercise room. The only person we met was the sales director, and she was very knowledgeable. It was on the small side, but it was very well kept, and it looked very clean and well decorated. Everything looked well maintained.

I visited the assisted living of Carriage Court. I felt the tour was super rushed, and it was very bad. Pretty much all of the activities were in one room, and nothing really stood out. The rooms were small, but it made sense, and there was not a whole lot in them. The staff member was fine. Not great, but not terrible. I did not meet anyone. It was very rushed, like we're just scooting through. It was really sweet that they gave us cookies when we were finished. They tried to be very warm and welcoming.

My dad only stayed at the Carriage Court of Kenwood for a little while. It was nice and I didn't have any problems with it. Everybody was good. It seemed like the food was good and the dining area was nice. My dad didn't report any problems with it. He enjoyed plenty of their activities, like music and cards.

I couldn’t be happier for my mother at Carriage Court of Kenwood. Everybody, from the receptionist up to the nurse’s aides, has all been wonderful. Kelly -- who was the head of the place -- couldn’t make us feel more welcome, and she was so attentive to my mother. They’ve been a God-send for her, so I’m very happy. I think what’s wonderful is the fact every afternoon, they have some kind of an activity or program planned. There are little bus trips that she takes. They had music and games. They have something going on constantly for the residents, and they seem to be far more active. Everything is nice and clean, and that’s what we are looking for. Sometimes, you walk into a place, and you just get a good feeling. We had a great feeling with Carriage Court. It was a perfect fit.

I just toured Carriage Court, and the people were very friendly. I liked the complex. It did not have a lot of grounds to walk, but they were close to everything, and they did have outings all the time going on. Their rooms were spacious, and the only thing that they could improve upon is maybe not have a piano playing very loudly when you first walk in. But other than that, I liked this complex.

Carriage Court of Kenwood was a very nice facility. It was smaller than the other place I visited, but it was nicely done. The dining area seemed nice. I met with their admission?s director, and she was wonderful. She was great and caring in the initial conversation. She provided a couple of different follow-up calls as well. The staff was very good.

Carriage Court of Kenwood is a much smaller facility than the other ones we have looked at, and it’s very nice and clean. The best thing about it is they offer a very wide array of services. So my mother -- who needs memory care and a lot of assisted living needs -- can be accommodated as well as my father, who does not need as many things. I’ve been very pleased with the facility. We actually rented two studio apartments for my parents. The studio apartments are quite spacious, so they each can have their own space, and each of them can have a clean bed and still have room for a desk, a TV, and even a chair to watch TV, etc. The facility is directly across the street from a Jewish hospital in Cincinnati. It’s also next door to a memory care only facility so if you need to graduate out, there is another facility next door. Kenwood is the shopping center of town; it’s the largest and most successful shopping mall in Cincinnati -- very upscale and very big -- and they will actually drive you over there. They do little bus tours; every week they let all the seniors get on a bus and drive them around to a different area of town, and they have an announcer who talks about the area and the history of the town. I’m really impressed with the place. I think it’s wonderful.

Carriage Court of Kenwood was a little too institutionalized for us, but I liked the location. It seemed full. There were a lot of people out and about, which I guess is a good thing, but it was a little chaotic when we first walked in. There was a woman playing the piano, and that was kind of cool. There were no patios. It looked more like a dorm or an apartment building than a home. They had a reading room with a few books in it, but I wouldn't call it a library per se. It was fairly clean. It wasn't quite as comfortable because the hallways were narrower and the entryways weren't as recessed.

Carriage Court of Kenwood was OK, but I did not like it as much as other places I saw. The staff was great, but the rooms were not because they looked like hospital rooms.

I know several people that live at Carriage Court of Kenwood and absolutely love it! They are well cared for and loved. The activities are well planned and cover a varity of interests. They have a family night every month and it is amazing the amount of work they put into it and the turn out is awesome...I have attended it several times. My friends mother has been there for 4 years and wouldn't live anywhere else. You will have issues anywhere you go but the staff is open to hear your concerns and will find solutions. When my parents are in need of assisted living, it will be at Carriage Court of Kenwood.
