Its new and looks nice but thats where it ends. Very unorganized and unprofessional. If you have loved ones who need more than a meal and medicine distribution stay away. Some residents do not recieve showers, I witnessed a day where there was no meal service because the dietary staff called off. Employees have come in worked one shift and said they were not returning due to chaos. Admin staff will respond as required but become aggressive verbally when facts of neglect are presented and can be proven. Call buttons and alerts are ignored. Make this one a hard pass .

My father is in Avenue at Brooklyn Care and Rehabilitation Center. They have cleaning people and aides who come in and check on them now and then. They have nurses who help feed him three times a day. They have doctors come in a few times a month. The place is very clean. My Dad thinks the food is really good. The room he's in is very nice and pretty good sized with a twin-sized bed, a nice sized closet, a pretty good sized dresser, a TV on the wall that's pretty good size, about 47 inches, and a small refrigerator. They have activities that my dad refuses, but they take him for physical therapy and they have occupational therapy. I have seen other people doing things and they do puzzles, they have movies, and they do games. Value for money is pretty fair. They accept Medicaid plus your Social Security, and that was something that was hard for us to find.

Avenue at Brooklyn Care and Rehabilitation Center is a brand-new facility. I just liked it because the rooms were private and clean, and mom has her own bathroom. She has a nice view. Based on what I've seen, it looks like a 5-star hotel to me. They only had one tenant there at the time I went. They have nice-sized rooms where she can move around. All the rooms are big enough for someone who's in a wheelchair or a walker. They have enough space that they're not bumping into stuff. They had several dining rooms for them to eat at. They had the main dining room with a grand piano in there. So it looked like they were going out to eat. I just like it because it's quiet and it's private, and it was something that my mom could transition into. They have an outdoor area for them to walk around. They also have a little library kind of setting or a computer room/library, an exercise room or a therapy room, and a beauty salon if they need their hair cut or nails done. They also had a bistro. They have an activities room for them to do activities. If mom was to get worse, she would just move into the same building but to another section of the building where they have Alzheimer's and dementia patients.
