My mom was at Montefiore at Home for rehab. It wasn't the best possible experience. They were understaffed. The staff was okay, warm and fuzzy. My mom had a nice room, a private one. They have church service on a Sunday and physical therapy. I visited often, but she seemed to always stay in her room.

Prior to coming to Montefiore Nursing home, my mom had been in 3 or 4 nursing homes. None of them provided the care that Montefiore does. My mom has been Montefiore 5 years and she is doing well. The staff is attentive to my mom, her room is always clean and will promptly address the family's concerns. I know Montefiore has improved the quality of my mom's life. IGH

They don't answer the phone. Even when you talk to someone finally they said they couldn't guarantee my mom would get the proper care. WHAT? The care she Is there for???? They don't care about patients or concerned family members. But they make Sure the Billing is Right. They are horrible. Send your loved one elsewhere.

They never return phone calls, refuse to do necessary care, and don’t get along with any other care providers. They made the care of my grandmother so much harder than it had to be. It was clearly about the money and nothing else. Don’t let Montefiore’s claws get in the care of your loved one - it will be a disaster. So hard to deal with and completely unreasonable. My grandmother’s doctor told us she had a Staph infection - it was the WRONG PATIENT! Not even the tip of the iceberg. Beware - they are terrible.

This is an awful place. People screaming in the halls for help. People ringing their buzzer for a transfer to go to the bathroom over and hour. People pulling their cord over an hour to go back to their bed. Medication not coordinated with physical therapy. If you care about your family member you will go and be their advocate and spend a lot of time there. It will be fruitless because they don't care. There is no respect for anyone or anything there.

Don't come here if you are on immunosuppressants medications. I came here for rehab after I broke my leg. I arrived at 1'30 pm and was told it can take 4 hours to get medications approved by the doctor then ordered and shipped from the pharmacy. I ham in 2 immunosuppressant meds after my kidney transplant surgery. I was told at 8:30 that the meds are on the way, but may no get here till 9:30 or 10pm. I have to take these meds by 9pm. At 10:30 still no meds. At midnight, I am told the order was placed early in the day, but the pharmacy cancelled them because no one from the facility returned their call to confirm the cost. Not only that, but it took over 4 hours to get my pain meds or my insulin, both were here in the facility, but someone filling my admission paperwork forgot to sign something. So if you are on immunosuppressants, don't come here, cause apparently they could care less about life saving medications and assuring a patient is getting the appropriate care they need.

My father was at Montefiore. Everything was fine. The place was very nice and very well-maintained. It was clean, and the staff was attentive. The only negative that I would say is I think they were understaffed.

They are understaffed. If patient is put on toilet, they are left there to sit until someone finally comes to get them off. Also they are left sitting in there wheelchair for hours even after you ring to have them put back into bed.Not a good situation for an elderly patient.

My wife is in rehab right now at Montefiore. I would rate it as one of the top places around. The help there -- as far therapy is concerned -- the nurses are A1. The place is nice. It is kept clean. They have a shop where the patients can go and shop for clothes and jewelry. They can set up an account there for them. There is a deli there where they can go get something to eat if they want to, they can put that on their account, and it is all taken care of quite nicely. It is really nice. The healthcare facility at the rehab is very good. It is A1 and top of the class. All the therapy my wife is getting is really doing well and making her come around, so I'm very happy with it.

Montefiore is a very clean facility . The facility has long term care units , assisted living unit, dementia unit, orthopedic unit and a rehabilitation unit. The facility offers a lot. The only negative thing I can say about the facility is that they never have enough staff. They are always understaffed which does impact the type of care the patients receive.
