"As a former patient at Gordon Lane, I can attest to the excellent care/services that I received from their occupational/physical therapy dept., the nurses/physician assistant, activity personnel, administration/case manager, housekeeping, etc., As a new patient, I was scared of the unknown. "I have toured this facility. It is a locked facility specializing in patients with dementia. It is clean and well maintained. It seems safe and is located on a nice quite street. Located w/ in minutes of a large hospital. Nice walkways and couryards. It seems homelike and all the staff are courteous, well trained in dementia care. They have a bird aviary. The patients seem happy and well cared for. The downside is that it is not very close to shopping. I would consider this facility for a loved one who wanders and it is one of the very few secured faciilities in Orange County. "

"Unfortunately, I have experienced quite a few facilities in my brother's long illness. This is the best so far for nursing and rehab care on my list. It is clean, bright and the staff are all friendly and helpful. It is quite obvious they care for the patients and respond well when needed. The food is nutritious and fresh and appetizing. Every staff member from nurses and doctors to cleaning crew are kind and respectful. When someone you care about is in need of a facility like this, Windsor Gardens offers the atmosphere and professionalism you desire but can be difficult to find. I am very pleased with the care and support my brother receives there."

"The hospital took my mom to La Palma Nursing Center. It's a small facility, but she likes it there very much because it was very clean and orderly. The staff were very friendly. They talk to her and they didn’t ignore her like in the other places that she has been. She was in a private room at first and then she went into a two bedroom with a roommate. It was more than adequate; very nice room. My mom is not yet ready to participate with their activities. I was able to see their breakfast one time and it’s a very typical breakfast. My mom likes the breakfast food, but the rest of the food, she says she did not like it so much. "

"I would not recommend Harbor Villa Care Center to anyone. My mom was there for four or five weeks and she was sent there by the hospital. Although they took great care in making sure everybody was COVID-free, my mother fell during her stay there, and then she developed a sore that was never able to be cured. So, that was on their watch. The main caregivers were inexperienced. That's why mom fell because the lady didn't know enough to call for help, to assist her in moving my mother to the bathroom, for example. I said to her that she should have just changed her on the bed or called for help. Communication was also a factor in the low rating. The activities were very limited. Due to my mother's condition, she wasn't particularly participating. She was left sitting for long, long periods of time, which was why she developed a sore on her body. The atmosphere was just depressing. The food looked pretty good, though."

"My father stayed in St. Jude Medical Center rehab for 2 weeks. It’s an acute rehab within an acute care hospital. It’s a very well respected program, and the staff was very good. They have very few wards where there are two or three beds. It’s clean and the rehab center is well run. They have all forms of rehab. They have OT, PT, and physical medicine. This was where we wanted him, and it worked out perfectly well. He went from the acute side to the rehab side so we never had to leave the building. "

"The care is better than we received at the local hospital. The staff is very patient oriented. There was one small problem, in that a dressing change that resulted in an infection requiring a ambulance transport to the hospital with a billing of ER care and ambulance. When faced with the back charge, the facility hesitated and has not credited. Buit again the care was commendable. "

"I visited a close friend of mine who's loving his stay at St. Elizabeth. The staff were super welcoming and friendly and checked in on my friend often. He said the food was better than expected with lots of variety and felt he was recovering faster than expected too. His follow up doctors have all been impressed with his progress. The facility smelled nice and seemed very clean. I'm glad there are people that are passionate about elderly care, and I feel safe with him at St. Elizabeth. "

"My mom was in a skilled nursing home called Coventry Court Health Center. They were excellent. It was like walking into a hotel. There was never a smell or anything. It was just excellent. The staff was wonderful. They’re very helpful. Any time I came with questions or whatever, they were always there. The food was fine, but my mom at that point wasn’t really eating a lot. "
