I'm in Open Arms Retirement Center right now. The place is great. The staff is very helpful and very attentive to me. I'm only here because I just had a stroke last year. The place is fantastic. They have an awesome staff here. They're very attentive to the residents' needs. The living quarters are kept clean at all times. I have no complaints about the place. It's just that I am not fit for this type of place. I need to be on my own. I've taken my PT and OT since I've been here. A lot of my physical therapists told me I don't really need to be in a place like this, but the staff does the job well. They're very courteous and respectful to all of the residents. The food here is fantastic. We have three hot meals a day and snacks two times a day. We have a very good cook. They had an activity director, but she just moved back to Texas. They are in the process now of trying to rehire another activity director, but the staff working here are doing the things that the activity director would do. We have bingo, and we have a resident council meeting today. It's immaculate. The grounds are kept clean at all times, the grass is cut, and they have housekeeping here. I think I'm paying too much money, though.

I toured Open Arms Retirement. It's an old building, but it was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was extremely friendly. They were very helpful. They stopped what they were doing and gave me a tour of everything. I did get to see the dining room and stuff like that. They had a place where they could do puzzles. They had a schedule if they were able to do it to keep them active.

I went to Open Arms Retirement Center. The tour was very excellent. It was outstanding. Going through the building, everything was very clean. It smelled good. The rooms were very roomy. It had an atmosphere of being home. The staff are very attentive and very knowledgeable. I got to see them eating, and they seemed to be enjoying it. The grounds were very well kept, and the building was very clean. They said they have bingo and some exercise stuff in the dayroom. They let them exercise walking them around.

I did find a place for my dad. It's called Open Arms. It is a small facility. They separate the people that have Alzheimer's from the ones that don't. I love the gardens. They're beautiful. I met several people, going from the lady that administers the places, to some of the nurses and the admission manager, and they were very helpful when I called. They took me around. They showed me three different empty rooms. In general, the people looked content. The facility was clean. It has different rooms that they could go to. They have different set up of rooms, like garden rooms and others were a little more formal. They have the dining room where they go for their three meals and three snacks a day. They have a blackboard, which was huge because a lot of people there don't see well and it had posted all the activities. Every Friday at 3 p.m., they have ice cream. I thought that was rather huge in the sense that it is something for them to look forward to. Also my dad loves ice cream. I like that they have a Facebook page. This place is small, and they have enough staff. Let's say my dad doesn't want to get up or get to go over to lunch or dinner, they will bring his meal to his room. That to me was very important because my dad will refuse to go to eat. I really love the place.
