Brookdale Pinehurst was very nice and very clean. It was small, but also expensive. Everybody was very helpful, but the amount of care and attention wasn't much there. I think they were understaffed at the time. A number of the management people were out, because of an illness (not COVID). There's some sort of respiratory illness that was going around, so there just wasn't as much assistance in the assisted living that we were looking for. My mom was at the right place yet at the wrong time. They gave her the model room and it was very nice. She had a nice decent kitchen, a nice size bathroom, two separate bedrooms, and then a sitting room/ living room. It was very clean. The entire room had new flooring and new paint. It was in very good condition. I had no complaints about that. The activities were fine, too.

I toured Brookdale Pinehurst. All of the staff was incredibly friendly. I asked them questions, and they responded immediately. The facility was very clean. It was well set out. The community looked like a little community inside a building. Everybody we saw and spoke to there was just happy, friendly, and outgoing. The rooms I thought were very well-sized. We looked at three different sized rooms and each one had plenty of space for accommodations. It seemed like a great place to live.

The tour I had at Brookdale Pinehurst was good. The staff was pleasant and informative. I liked their apartments the best. They were very bright, light, clean-looking, attractive, and cheerful. The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't take the residents outside of the facility.

Everything at Brookdale Pinehurst was excellent. I liked the location a lot. I liked the studio apartment that I looked at. It was very neat and very clean. Angela, the lady who gave me the tour, was excellent. I saw the dining area and it was very nice. Their outdoor spaces looked excellent.

Brookdale Pinehurst was very nice. The staff seemed very, very friendly. They all spoke very highly of working there and were friendly to each other. They had a theater and an activity area. It looked and smelled very nice. It's very close to the hospital.

Brookdale Pinehurst was very nice. I would put my brother in there. It was near the hospital. They have a combination of different residents, like people that just live there because they can't take care of themselves. Memory care is a locked facility. It had a nice patio. The rooms were quite nice. You could have a private room or you could have someone in there with you or semi-private. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and very friendly. The place didn't smell. It was very nice and clean. They had activities. They had some stuff going on when we went there with the patients. They had sessions where they were playing different games and doing different memory things with the residents. We didn't have a meal, but we saw them eating.

Bad experience and scary experience for some of out most vulnerable people in society--the elderly! We were misled by the management as to the services that would be provided and that we paid for. Some of the staff were hostile when asked to provide what was agreed to. We could not get baths and bathroom help. My mother ended up sick and with a UTI. Residents were calling out ot help in the halls at night. There are better options. (a fresh coat of paint, doesn't make a safe place to live.)

We went to Brookdale Pinehurst. Upon walking into the door, it was a happy, cheery place for an assisted living facility. It was just superb. There were a couple of members of staff that came. They had been out shopping and had balloons and a cake. They were singing Happy Birthday to one of the residents. They had a lot going on while we were there. The maintenance man went and bought us a drink. He didn't have to do that while we were waiting, and I was just very well pleased.

I'm very, very happy with Brookdale Pinehurst. They've been amazing to work with, and my grandmother seems seem to be adjusting very, very well. She's been there for probably weeks now, and my grandfather has been there for probably double that amount of time. It's very small, warm, and homey; I think those are the main words that I would use to describe it. They actually both have very similar rooms. She is in memory care, and he is in assisted living. The staff that I have interacted with have been amazing, absolutely amazing. They have all been very helpful, very informative, very involved and accommodating. They have two beautiful dining rooms. Obviously, we're coming in post Covid; there's a lot of stuff that they had to stop for a little while there. They're now getting back into action with some of the common rooms. Back in the memory care unit, they have activities and a wonderful, wonderful director of activities there. They have a private courtyard garden area. They have two screened in porches, and they have a salon. They do senior workouts. They don't have a room with equipment, but they do movements and stretches. I have been there during meals, and everybody seems very happy. I don't see as much of activities in the assisted living because I'm back in a memory care more often.

We were very pleased with Brookdale Pinehurst. My mom was there for respite care, and she really enjoyed it. We liked all the people there, and they were very good with her. Her room was nice with a big closet in it. My mom didn't really have any complaints about the facility. She met a couple of good friends there, too. The only thing I noticed was there was a time where they were a little short on staff, which meant that the person who came to take her for walks outside wasn't available all the time, but they had brought in someone from another Brookdale location to help out. The dining area was clean, and the food was good. She liked the fact that she had a couple of choices and that everyone didn't just get the same thing. She participated in some of the activities. She even played a couple of games she had never played before, and that was good. When you came in, it was a little bit different because of COVID. They checked me in and everything, let me come in, and helped her set up her room. The next time I saw her, I had to meet her in a specific place, so they were very careful about COVID. However, I was a little bit taken off guard about how much they charge me for assistance with her medication. It was a little more than I expected; it was almost $1500 a month.

Brookdale Pinehurst was very nice and beautiful. Everybody was very attentive and eager to show us all their amenities. The staff was very sweet, accommodating and understanding of our situation. They were willing to help. They had bedrooms with small kitchens and closet spaces, places for television to connect, small refrigerators, microwave, and a really nice bathroom. They had several different kinds of rooms. They had a dining room, activities room and director, transportation to and from for doctor's appointments, shopping or whatever the residents' needs.

We visited Brookdale, and that's where dad's going for respite care. The staff member was exceptional. She was very helpful and she followed up with me a couple of times. They have studios, singles, and double rooms, and all were very clean. They have a lot of activities, they have exercises, and they also take them on bus trips around the area.

We were very impressed with Carolina House (Brookdale Pinehurst). They’re way more expensive than the other place we visited. The baseline care is $3,900 a month, and then they attach a care fee. They have a very nice, newer facility, and their care level is maybe a little better. The staff was very nice. The location would be perfect for me because it’s close to where I work and only five minutes away from where I live. And the grounds were nice and very well-kept. They seemed to have a lot to keep the residents busy. They do field trips, bus trips, provide transportation for their residents’ appointments, have an in-house beauty salon, in-house physical therapy, and very nice common areas for the people to hang out. They have a nice big screened-in porch on the end if they want to go out and hang out. It’s a very nice facility. The rooms were very nice.

I visited Carolina House of Pinehurst for my dad. They were excellent. The only thing though is that it is 40 minutes away from where we live. The appearance of the facility was very good. The place smelled very clean, and that's very nice. The residents looked happy. I think that's very important. I explained my dad's needs and we both understood that it wasn't going to be a match at the time, but one thing that I really like was that, although it wasn't a match, that did not deter them from giving me all the information they possibly could for me to find a location for him. I saw two rooms, and they looked extremely comfortable. The clients and their family can personalize the rooms. Their rooms were big enough. With regards to activities, they have an entire calendar that they put out monthly. The residents can go to as many activities as they want.

Overall, Carolina House was fairly nice. They seemed quite knowledgeable. The dining area was set up like a restaurant. It’s located around medical facilities and is only half a mile from a hospital.

I liked the nice outdoor area of Carolina House -- they had a little garden out there. It was inviting and green. My uncle was a resident there; he was fond of gardening and it was a good experience for him. They also had good activities for the residents. The rooms were okay. He should have had rails on the side of his bed because he’s had a couple of falls.

My uncle stayed at Carolina House for 3 days and so far it was good. The facilities were nice but the rooms could be nicer. The rooms were a little dingy and dull. It was very clean though. I would recommend this facility but it's a little bit pricey.
