The rooms were great, new condition. The food was only ok & my mom said they were stingy. My mom lived in assisted living for 1-1/2 years. She fell & broke her neck in the bathroom & went to a rehab center. When she returned to the Viridian a month later, she had another UTI & a hard neck brace & became very difficult, combative & refused her meds. I visited her one day & she was awful. Within minutes of my return home staff called & said my mom’s speech was slurred & I approved her going to the hospital. When I saw mom that evening she was talking incessantly. No slurred speech. The next day the hospital wanted to send her back to the Viridian & much to their surprise the Viridian didn’t want her back. No notice, a Thursday evening before a long Memorial Day holiday! I was left trying to find mom a place to stay. The hospital kept mom until my son took her to his home in the Raleigh area. That didn’t work out either. Mom is now in a nursing home in Wake Forest. She has good days & bad ones, but I will never forget the horrible stress the Viridian care coordinator placed me & my family in. We moved her stuff out on the Saturday after we were told mom couldn’t return. We received no refund for the days remaining in the month. They could have given our family some notice & helped her find another place to stay. The hospital was very angry with them over how they were used to remove my mom from their facility. I really loved the Viridian until they kicked my mom to the curb. They probably would’ve allowed mom back after they found out they had acted improperly, but how could I allow my mom to stay in a place she was not wanted?

The Viridian was brand new, very posh, very modern, clean, with high ceilings, and very welcoming at the same time. They had a grand piano in the foyer, glass everywhere, that kind of place. Everybody I met was wonderful. The tour was excellent. They were very knowledgeable. They have a doctor on staff, which is nice for an assisted living place. They had a wonderful rec room. They had a media room where they had a gigantic TV for people to watch movies. They had the standard barber. The whole place was very slick. There's no carpet because the carpet is a trip hazard. It's just flat tile throughout. The rooms were quite large. They were very well set out. We did not eat lunch there, but we saw menus and the food looked really good based on the menu alone. There's a separate dining room for company, if you want to have a big Thanksgiving dinner, and you arrange it. There's a huge dining room table where your whole family can come. They do trips. They have an activities director, so something is going on all the time, all day, games and that sort of thing.

My mom went to The Viridian. It's brand new. They have independent living and assisted living. They were really good. It's a beautiful brand new facility. They served gourmet meals. They had all kinds of activities and very caring, loving staff. My mom would always come out and sit in the lobby. It's nice and it's really pretty, too. My mom was just there for respite care. We went on two small vacations, and Mom stayed there. They have independent living apartments, which are gorgeous, and then they have assisted living. The food was phenomenal. It's like a beautiful dinner that you plated up at a restaurant. It's gorgeous meals and healthy. They'll bring you anything you want, like snacks throughout the day. They're really good about that. It's a great place. If you plan on doing assisted living, I think it's a wonderful place for a loved one. It's more expensive and more upscale than the other place.

The Viridian was brand new, so the facilities were very nice. The rooms and accommodations were also very nice. People were informative. They had a courtyard and all of the amenities.

My mother has found a place to stay, and she is staying at The Viridian. It's a nice place. It's brand new. They have private rooms. My mother wanted a private room, and they went out of their way to help her to make her feel at home. She seems to be happy. She has been there for a week and a half now. The staff are very friendly, and they go out of their way to make my mom feel comfortable. I've seen the food. I went in when my mom was eating. She is picky. They had a porkchop and it was sort of tough, so she didn't like it that much, so they brought her a nice salad with ranch dressing, which was her favorite, so she was happy. If there's any time that she's not happy with the food, then she can always have a salad or soup. The food looks good. They also bring her snacks three times a day. She doesn't have to fix anything; it's all fixed for her. My mom played some games that they had, and she was really happy that she had won a blanket and a calendar. It was something like bingo. They've taken her out on some kind of tour, too, in their van. She went out with a few of the other ladies, and she had a good time. They just need to pull her out of her shell because she's in one. It is a little bit expensive, but it's all-inclusive. Nothing is extra. Everything is included. They have TV and cable. We did have to buy the TV, but she has cable, and she can watch all kinds of stuff and that's all included, and that makes her happy, too. It's a nice place.

My husband is now residing at The Viridian. They're brand new and they've had a few start-up problems, but nothing critical, and he seems to be quite happy right now. The staff are very, very good. The food is quite good. They have activities, but I'm not familiar with all of those, and my husband is not a participant. They have a library, an exercise room, and a large television room where people can go in and relax in there. All of whom I've seen are men and ballgames.
