I am familiar with Carteret Landing Assisted Living because I've had friends there and I do alterations. I've been in and done a lot of stuff for some of the ladies there. I have one friend, in particular, that was sort of hoping that my mother would go there, but there was no room for her. It's run well and it looks wonderful, but to me, it doesn't have the same feeling as the other place. We checked there and it was a two- to three-month wait. My friend participates in a lot. She's very active. She's satisfied there. She has no family here. I would go get her and we would go places and do things until Covid hit. Her room has a kitchenette in it. Everything is newer there. They have a library and they have a hairdresser. They have a place that people can go and wash their clothes if they want. There's one washer, one dryer. They can go and do that if they want to. As far as the religious aspect of it, I'm not sure if they have a chapel. The director was nice and explained everything to us. They were just a little higher in price than the other place. It's very nice, updated and modern.

Carteret Landing Assisted Living was very institutional. It wasn't friendly. You weren't allowed to paint, and you weren't allowed to hang things. It was very impersonal. The staff member who gave the tour was very informative, very nice, and very polite to everyone. It would be much nicer if it was more personal. Also, my stepmother would not have been able to go outside unless she had an attendant with her.

I toured Carteret Landing Assisted Living. It's a very nice facility. They are very nice and very accommodating. They were doing some repairs on the roof, so they maintained it very well.

I like Carteret Landing Assisted Living. First of all, it's very clean, and I like the fact that it has a courtyard where my friend could sit outside if she wanted to. The dining room looked very friendly. The people who were there seemed to be happy. One of them said to me, 'The food is great.' The staff who toured me was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. I had some difficulty walking and she was very patient with me. It was 12:30 when I got there, and there were still a few people in the dining room, but most of them had left and gone to their rooms. Some were resting, some of them weren't, but I was able to see several of the rooms. They have kitchenettes that have a refrigerator, sink, microwave, and cupboards. They also have a facility that does not have those things, but you can bring in your own microwave and refrigerator if you want them. They have exercise rooms, too.

Carteret Landing Assisted Living was extremely clean. All of the residents seemed very comfortable and were enjoying themselves. There were many, many activities available. At the moment when we were there, some activities were actually taking place. The staff was extremely friendly. They were very aware of their surroundings. They seemed to interact with comfort and pleasure with the residents. There didn't seem to be a variety of living spaces. There was simply a very nice and adequate large bedroom with a small sitting area. If you wanted something bigger (like if you wanted a one-bedroom because you were a couple), you didn't have that option. They had living rooms, parlors, and private dining rooms. They had a big TV room, which was well occupied. They were actually having a movie afternoon with popcorn, which looked quite fun because it was full. They have a craft and hobby area for people at different times. They have fitness work, leg strengthening, and balance things, which seem very, very useful. They didn't have an actual gym with machines or anything, and they didn't have a pool.

Carteret Landing Assisted Living is a very new facility, very attractive. The interiors are upscale. The rooms are small. They don't have as big a room as the other place I went to, but they are the most attractive. The dining room is lovely. They have arts and crafts, they have a beautician on staff. It was just very, very attractive. They had a library. They had a piano that people could go play and TV rooms. The staff is very pleasant. The building is much newer, very comfortable, but not quite as homey as the other one.

I was very impressed with Carteret Landing. They had lots of activities. I would gladly move my mother there if we were in different circumstances right now and if my family agreed. The facility was good. I was pleased with it.

We have been very pleased with Carteret Landing. He's only been there a couple of weeks. The staff is very helpful and responsive. It's a brand new and beautiful facility, as well as very clean. The rooms and furniture are very nice, and they're very spacious. The grounds are well-kept and nice. You get a feeling like you're in a 5-star hotel.
