I like TerraBella Lake Norman, because it's a large facility. They have a large number of caretakers, it's clean, modern, and it's close to home. My wife is in the memory care, and they're very caring. They're right on top of everything and they keep you well informed. It's expensive, but when comparing it to other facilities around, they're right in the middle. So they're very competitive. One of the good things about them is they have a lot of activities to keep their residents busy. In the memory care unit there are simple activities, but there are a lot of them, and it keeps them occupied, and everybody seems to get along. The amenities are limited since the people are kind of locked into a smaller space, but the overall facility is everything you would need, and they deal with all levels of care. So, it's good.

My in-laws are on the waiting list at Terrabella Lake Norman. I like the facility, the staff, the activity, the care, and the level of happiness that you see around people there. It was just overall a very welcoming place. The staff was wonderful, excellent, very caring, and knowledgeable. They include meals. They have weekly housekeeping and many activities, from physical to social to outings. They have so many different activities for all levels of people. I also like the ability to easily go from independent to assisted to memory care as needed.

We went to TerraBella Lake Norman. We toured the whole facility, but we were mostly focused on independent living. The tour experience was excellent. I thought the facilities were impressive. They had a number of dining facilities and social areas. I liked it. They also had two-bedroom units with a full kitchen, which was really attractive to my family. The staff that we met there toured us around. His name was Stuart. He was excellent. He had been a long-time employee of the facility and provided a really helpful educational tour. He shared a lot of good information about the services, amenities, and different pricing options. It's a nice non-traditional layout. There're more apartment-style units that were set up and were very accessible. It's just a really nice facility. It seemed very clean and well-maintained. I remember seeing a nice hair salon, I liked that they had several different dining rooms, and I liked that they had a library and an exercise room.

My mom is a resident of Terrabella Lake Norman. The community of residents have been friendly. The actual physical property is attractive and safe. The leadership are great at communications and responding to requests for transportation and maintenance matters. There's a beauty/barber salon. There are great social activities that relate to physical therapy, walking clubs, movie nights, and all kinds of games. A highlight, particularly for my mom, is an art class. They have church services held onsite, which are convenient and meritorious. They've pivoted well with any COVID matters. They've taken good precautions in serving meals in the rooms when needed, but also returning to social gatherings in the cafeteria at appropriate times.

TerraBella Lake Norman was well designed, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was excellent, caring, friendly, and knowledgeable of the residents. The rooms were good sized and kind of what you'd expect. The activities were a plus. I think they've been established over a decade, so they know how to work that out and get good activities directors. They have a beauty salon, an activities room, and a library.

I have visited and been in contact with someone from TerraBella Lake Norman. I don't know if she's the coordinator or what, but they're wonderful and they've been fantastic. From what I saw, there's always smiles on people's and staff's faces. It seemed like they had tons of activities going on. They have the hair salon and everything, and I'm sure most places do, but it's just a very warm place, a feeling that just seems different than most places. I feel very good about it. It's assisted living and the room that my mom's going into is just beautiful. It's a little apartment. Most of their staff has been there a long time and that to me speaks volumes. That means that the staff is pretty consistent. I've been in contact with them weekly through email, just trying to get everything together. They've been more than helpful in the paperwork and just everything that needs to be done.

I liked TerraBella Lake Norman very much. I liked that their apartments had separate bedrooms and a sitting room. The man who took me around was very nice. I looked at the menu and it looked good too. They had a hair salon, a library, and nice grounds with sidewalks all around, so you could walk from a long distance.

TerraBella Lake Norman was a very happy place. I met a lot of the staff. I met a lot of residents, and there was just a lot of energy. The facility impressed me in terms of the hallways and the dining areas. They were all top-notch in terms of feeling comfortable and looking great. The individual rooms were smaller. If my father moved from independent living to assisted living, you'd have to physically move the entire room to a very small studio. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that he would have to move rooms from a 1-bedroom to a small studio, if you wanted to get assistance. Everything was happy. The staff was happy. The residents were happy, and even the halls were happy.

I'm a resident of TerraBella Lake Norman. I'm in independent living, and my wife is up in memory care. The place is very clean, and the people are very nice. I have a minimal amount of complaints as far as living here. I'm not anxious to leave, but I want to get my wife straightened out, which we're in the process of doing. That's the reason why they want to do a reassessment here in a couple of weeks and see if we can move her back down. If I get her moved back down with me, I'm not going to move. I'm very happy here, but we're at different ends of the spectrum, and this separation is killing me. She's up in memory care, and I'm down here, and it's not cheap. My daughter says, "You'd better get yourself together because your money is going." The place is very nice, they keep it very clean, they paint it, and they have a garden. It's a big complex. We have a hair salon and a workout room. Before the pandemic, we had regular people coming in, and they would do your nails, but the pandemic changed everything. The staff is excellent, very capable, and very nice.

We went to see it. The apartment was quite spacious for my sister's needs. I think it would have met her needs fully. My sister liked the fact that she has a little kitchenette because she still cook some of her own meals and the one on the other facility we visited, there was no cooking in the room. There was a separate living area and the bedroom was quite spacious. It was plenty big enough for her to have a bed, dresser chest and a desk. The bathroom was a nice big bathroom, well laid out with a fold down seat in the tub area. Size wise it would have been perfect for her. The room in the main area had a table so if she wants to have people in, then that's where she could do it, that's the room she needs. She doesn't like the one with just one room that she's going to have her bed in. Most of the places that we've visited has one little tiny room and a bathroom. That's all there is, it's more like a small studio. Whereas, this one has a separate bedroom. We have to go back because we were only able to look at empty apartments at the time we went but I have first seen a virtual tour in the facility itself. They had walking trails around the place. One of the apartments we looked at was facing out into an outdoor garden. It's secured and you have to have a number punched in to get in to the area and that would be nice. If she wanted that unit, she would be able to have chairs outside to the little concrete patio. She could have chairs outside for sitting out in the sun or whatever she wants to do so that extends her living space little bit, which was a good thing.

My mom will be moving in. They have a really great staff and it is a very nice facility. The grounds were very nice. I live about four miles away, so it's going to be a very nice arrangement. My mom has selected a very nice 1-bedroom apartment. The floor plan is nice and it includes everything for my mom to be very comfortable, like a nice kitchen with quite a bit of space. They have music, meals, areas where people can relax and do things; there's a bistro and game rooms. They also have outings and shopping. They can sign up for trips up to the mountains, and they take them to doctors' appointments.

We chose it because they seemed to be more concerned about my mother than the other places. The people and the residents welcomed my mother into the community, that's the feeling we got, that it's more centered around my mother. They go from independent to assisted living, to memory care, so it's all-inclusive. She's first going into independent, and as she progress she'll be able to stay where she is so she's not going to lose the people that she meets there. We dealt with two staff members, especially one gentleman by the name of Mark, who is the director, and another woman named Katie. Both of them showed my mother around, and she was apprehensive, so when she first got there they brought her through the independent living entrance so she didn't have to see all the people in walkers and wheelchairs. They showed her the apartment she was going to be in and the dining room, they really took the time and effort to get to know her, and make her feel comfortable. She gets three meals a day, and they also have what they call an open kitchen so if she wants a snack or coffee during the day she can go there any time. Once a month they go on trips, like to one of the museums downtown, or to places where they make furniture, or to a casino. They will also throw a welcome party or dinner for her with all the residents, and they can invite people as well. They have sing-alongs with guitars or pianos, there's a game room with tables where they play mahjong, or bridge, and they have a lot to keep their residents active. Another thing is that my mother will be in independent living, but she didn't have to buy in into that place, so it's month-by-month rent. It's good, because if there's a reason for us to take her out of there we can do that right away. My mother tasted the food and she thought it was good; it's restaurant style, meaning they have a set menu. If my mother doesn't like what's on the menu, she can order something like a hamburger or something, and everything is made fresh, they don't use frozen vegetables or whatever. My mother has a two-bedroom apartment, which is spacious, and she can use the other bedroom for her furniture and things so she won't feel like she's giving up, which is what the staff has also advised.

My mom moved in about a month and a half ago. The services are very good. The people are friendly. The staff is very good, helpful, very caring, and very friendly. My mom really likes the staff. It's a very warm community. They have independent and regular assisted living. My mom is in the memory care. They serve three meals a day and provide housekeeping, meals, laundry, and medicines. My mom doesn't usually participate in activities but they do have them. I would recommend it. We checked out several other ones and this place was the best.

I liked this community and know a lot of people who are in there. I liked the floor plans and the way it was organized. It was clean and cheerful. The residents were moving around and having a good time. They had all kinds of activities, and the food was fair. I know people who have had good experiences there.

It was very nice. It seemed more like a home away from home than anything else. The rooms and people were nice. It seemed like a nice place to go with a friendly atmosphere. The dining area looked like a dining room. You sit down and pick what you want off the menu. They have activities posted all around. Everything looked nice.

It was nice but a much smaller facility, and it didn’t offer all the options. The staff was great, the chef made banana bread, and we were able to take home lots of banana breads. It looks very nice except that it was much smaller; there were not many options. They didn’t have options for couples there, and they didn’t have rooms for two. It was kind of located right in the middle of a commercial area, and with the folks that were there, it wasn’t the energy level I was looking for.

It was so homey, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. People were excellent, so open and warm. They make you feel very comfortable. I had a friend there too -- that's why I looked at that place because he was living there -- and it was wonderful. They had different sized rooms that would fit your needs. The food was excellent. They had well-balanced nutritional meals. They had snacks that they brought around certain times of the day. The menu was always posted. My overall experience with them was excellent. If I had the money, I would stay there.

I was very impressed. Everything was excellent there. They had a lot of activities for the residents. They took the residents out several times a week. The only problem that I would have would be the distance from home and the traffic in getting there.
