My mother is in the memory care unit at Seasons at Southpoint. It's a pretty, nice, small place with no more than probably 40 or 50 patients. It's very clean, has lots of nice colors, and lots of nice things to do. There's a piano. Some stuffed kittens could be played with and colorful scarves, just lots of nice things that would attract their attention and something that they could play with. The rooms were very nice. They had rooms that you would share with someone and they also had private rooms with private baths. They also had two rooms that would share a half bath. There were lots of rooms to choose from as to what you wanted. The menu was good. It offered a balanced diet. It offered a diet for people who had problems with blood sugar and who had high blood pressure and needed to watch their salt. They were aware of medical problems that would require a restricted diet. The staff is very nice. We went in a couple of times when we weren't scheduled for a visit and everyone was always very nice. The residents were always clean and neat. It seemed like they had spruced things up because they had someone coming for interviews, so it was all very nice. It was all original. They had a place outside where they could go and garden if they wanted. They had a piano. There were lots of things there that would be attractive to that group of people. It has met all of our expectations and in some instances has exceeded what we expected. The staff is very good, very educated, and very oriented to what the residents need. My mother walks a lot, so they keep track of her and her walking. They pay attention to what their needs are and if they see something that maybe shouldn't be going on, then they go over and distract them from what is going on and take them to something else. It's not brand new, but it's been kept up very well. You don't see areas that need painting and you don't see wallpaper peeling off the walls. It's very well taken care of. They have lots of activities. I went in to see my mother one-day last week, and they were telling me that she was dancing. She likes to dance and she was doing the twist. She had twisted down to the floor and back up, and they were just really surprised that she could do it. They have music with some dancing and on Friday night, they have a little cocktail party with grape juice and crackers and things that they have out. They have some art classes and things like that they do with them. They have lots of things that they do. I think it's very much worth what we are paying for. We have visited several other places and their price is comparable to the other places that we selected to visit. There was just something about this one that felt warm and fuzzy. It just felt right for her, but the money and what goes on, the activities they provide, were actually in line with everything else that we saw. It's not extremely small, but it's a lot smaller than others that are out there. It just has a homier feel to it than some of the other places had.

I toured Seasons at Southpoint. They had some big rooms. The cleanliness was okay. It was fair. The staff was nice.

Seasons at Southpoint was all memory care and if it wasn't so far, I think we probably would have gone with them from the get-go. I was very impressed with them. They had refurbished their facility, so it was beautiful. My husband didn't go there, but the gentleman who did take care of us, as far as the tour went couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. They had an excellent chef. I never sampled anything, but we met the chef and the custodial staff. We met the aides and the head of the facility. It was just like, we have nothing to hide here. It was very, very welcoming.

Seasons at Southpoint was all memory care, and I don't feel like they had enough people working there. Their ratio was 1 to 8, and that was way too many residents for one person. The bedroom and the bathroom seemed way too tiny. They had people doing some crafts, but that was all I saw. It was noisy. Most of the residents were in a room with a TV. It just didn't look well-managed to me at all. I didn't like how the woman who assisted me with the tour was telling me why we would want what they have and not what someplace else has. It was like she was putting down the other places. It just seemed like a bad approach to me.

What I liked about Seasons at Southpoint was when I pulled up in a parking lot, there was an employee that was going out of her car at the same time. She spoke to me and I thought that was nice. When I got in, the lady at the registration desk greeted me. I signed in and she placed me in a room. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes before Sarah came in and introduced herself. She gave me a little bit of background about the facility, asked about what I was looking for, and gave her background about my mom. She then gave me a tour. I was able to see the residents as they went about their day. The facility was nice, clean, and simple. There was a lot of room to move about for the residents and not feel confined. She took me out to the courtyard and they had a couple of little vegetable gardens out there. It was nice. The room that she showed me was nice sized. I liked a little bit of the personal touch that she had. She introduced me to a couple of residents and based on what I told her about my mom, they had one resident that she thought that mom would be able to get along quite well. I was also able to meet the nurse, the cook, and the chef. It was a nice visit. Sarah was very personable. I didn't feel like it was a scripted tour. I felt like she was listening to what I had to say to see how the facility could fit my needs.

I had an in-person tour of Seasons at Southpoint. I loved the director and what they were going to be implementing. They were going to be remodeling in the next eight months. The price was great. I loved that it was just a memory care center and not mixed with patients that were rehabbing or anything like that. So there were more programs for Alzheimer's patients. The staff members were very caring and very interested in their patients. They communicated well with each other. They have a salon. They were going to be redoing their patio area and have a garden where the residents could grow vegetables. They have their outings and birthday parties.

Seasons at Southpoint is 100 percent built out for memory care. All the staff is familiar with memory care, and it is not just a section within the facility. This facility specializes in it. So, all their activities, all their care, all their residents, and all their staff are trained to deal with and help people with Alzheimer's and dementia. It's just a completely different environment. It's got a very personable atmosphere and staff. It may not be a super fancy place, but it's more based on the care for the individuals. It is affordable versus just fluffing it off and making it overly super nice and then neglecting the residents. The rooms were also good. They have cost effective options for the residents to stay there. Then they have multiple day rooms and activity rooms. Safety is their number one thing. They have locks on the doors and windows so that the residents are safe and not going to wander off or get into anything. All the doors are automatically locked so that the individuals or the residents can walk around during their daily activity times, and not get into anything, or have any problems, or get hurt.

I went to the Seasons at Southpoint yesterday. I'm planning to move my mother there. Just meeting the staff, everybody was friendly. I get the impression that they care about the residents there. They work with me as far as the pricing. Everybody was friendly. The place appears to be well maintained. They have a salon, they have two dining areas, and a couple of common areas. I thought it was very clean. It was convenient.

I toured Seasons at Southpoint. The rooms seemed to be nice. I just wish they had their own individual showers in their rooms. Everything seemed to be fine as far as the upkeep of the facility. The dining area itself looked fine, but there's not much to say about that. They were doing some type of trivia where they had the residents in the activity room, and they were asking different trivial questions of the residents. It's a memory care facility, 100 percent memory, so it was good that they were engaging the residents with that type of trivia game, and acknowledging them when they answered correctly. I would give them a three because there's room for improvement. I can't cite specifically, but it's three. The staff member didn't have all the answers. She did the best she could.

We're extremely satisfied with Seasons at Southpoint thus far. My mother-in-law seems to be thriving there and they have a lot of people to keep them busy throughout the day. Her room is spacious, private, and larger than a large bedroom. It has a nice-sized bathroom, large closet, and the room is very clean and perfect for what she needs. She's at their assisted living/memory care community. We've been really happy with every aspect. They have won awards for their food. The people who prepare the food are trained by chefs, and the food is really good.

I feel so fortunate that my family member is at Seasons. The staff is caring, and the facility is well maintained. I have observed over 2 years that the level of turnover is low compared to similar residential facilities. This reflects well the working environment, administration, and the dedication of the staff to the residents in their charge.

Seasons at Southpoint seemed okay. I think that they had a unique way of assisted living. I think the staff's outlook and attitude were excellent. They were all very good. I was very impressed with what they did. They designed a unique program supposedly for each individual. I think the activities were designed and tailored to any individual need. My spouse is not able to participate to any activity, so I was not all that much interested in what the activities were. Overall, it just seemed to be very pleasant place. I was very impressed. I thought they were probably doing a very good job. The residents there were happy. The place was clean. I didn't see anything detrimental about it. I thought the rooms were very functional and very pleasant. And I think if a person was to go in a facility like that that they would be satisfied and would be happy with them. But after I visited, I decided that I could do a better job on my own than I could do through a facility.

I was impressed with Seasons at Southpoint because they have great control with entry and exit and they have an area with clock controlled doors. The staff is really nice. They gave me some good information and they are interactive with the people who are living there. The menus were pretty decent.
