My dad stayed at Morningside of Concord two years ago. They offer 24-hour care in the dementia area. There's one staff member for every three to maybe four residents. They get them up and they take them down for breakfast. They were very attentive, very caring, and very enthusiastic about the people there. They seemed to have good staff members who have been there for a long time. So that tells us something. The staff-to-resident ratio seems to be very much in line, or better, and from that standpoint, the facility was excellent. The rooms were small but nice. They were probably 320 square feet with a small standard bed, a dresser, a TV, closets for clothes, and their own bathroom. They have a courtyard in the middle that they would take them outside. There are fountains, chairs, trees, and bird feeders. It's very nice. The facility seemed clean. They were always cleaning. My dad's room was in great shape. The common area as well. They seemed very focused on that. The administration was very helpful and easy to work with. My dad was saying that the food was good, but he was pretty easy to please. They had singing, music, and games. They had stuff going on every day. It was expensive, but when you look at it overall, what they gave you for the money was pretty good.

Morningside of Concord was very congenial. The people there were very engaged with the residents. Even the residents told us that they loved it there. It was just a very welcoming and loving atmosphere. Plus, they don't have a lot of turnover on their staff, and I like the stability of something like that. They were very friendly. We saw the activities director. We also met the dining hall person and one of the maids people, and everybody was just so welcoming. The residents in the dining room said "You will love this place." my sister liked it, too, and its layout. The facility was clean and warm. There were no smells. They had nice rooms and you could bring your own furniture.

My mom has moved into Morningside of Concord. It's very nice. The layout is first-rate. It's very clean. The staff members are very helpful. They attend to her needs and the meals are very good. The staff are friendly, too. They have outings, they have groups come in to entertain, they have ice cream social, and they have bingo and arts and crafts. It's one of the best ones to get into, so we decided that was a good place to go. It was close, so it made it easy for her friends to visit her.

Morningside of Concord is just perfect. My mom is enjoying the food. It's very nutritious and just what she needs. They're always on top of the care for all the residents and there are lots of activities. They do trips to local restaurants, wineries, and some shopping trips. One day when it was too hot to be outside, they just did a little trip in their van and just rode around that community. Inside the facility, they have bingo, people that would come in to sing/do talks about travel, devotions, picnics out in the courtyard, and exercise classes. There are two or three things every day. It's beautiful and very clean. They're always cleaning the courtyard. It's got a gorgeous fountain right in the middle with lots of seating, lots of umbrellas, and lots of shade from trees.

The room size at Morningside of Concord was much smaller than others, and without a kitchenette. The staff members were lovely people. They gave us some homemade cookies for our visit, and they were wonderful good cookies. It's located close to the hospital.

We're really happy with Morningside of Concord, and we are actually trying to get my mother-in-law in there. They were only able to take us to so many parts because of Covid, but it was very nice. The bedrooms had closets in them. it's memory care, but most of them have these little teeny linen closets. My mother-in-law really likes her clothing. That was really advantageous for us. There is this little nook inside the door where we can put a desk, and she loves to color. Most of the rooms had no space for another piece of furniture other than a bed and a dresser drawer, so that was really nice. It seemed well kept, well maintained, and very clean. We were really impressed with it. The staff was very sweet. They gave us some fabulous homemade lemon cookies. We also got a video tour of more of the memory care because Covid prevented her from showing us everything about it. We got to see an actual room. She took us around as much as she could, and we did the video.

Over a span of 7+ years, two of my family members were residents of Morningside. Once they moved into Morningside of Concord, their contentment with their advanced age improved and they each found a new purpose for their lives. The quality of care, the professionalism and competence, and the love and compassion extended by members of the staff and administration were exemplary. Their focus and their purpose that day were to take the best care they could of my family member. By doing that, they were there for me too and gave me the gift of time. The team at Morningside of Concord is awash with angels…from the top down and from the bottom up…any way you wish to look at it. It was evident the very first time and any time I made a phone call to Morningside of Concord and the receptionist answered. It was apparent when I walked through the door; it was always clean. Whether it is dietary or housekeeping or maintenance or nursing or daily activities or administration or laundry service…they are all excellent. It was a delight for my family members to live with them. It was a delight for me to visit.

I have visited Morningside of Concord many times and It is always very clean. It does not smell like some places I have visited. I have eaten lunch there several times and found the food to be very good. Unlike some places I have visited, you have a choice between two entrees and can choose from several different sides. I have gotten to know some of the staff and many of them have been there for many years. The people I visit love Morningside and consider it to be their home. I would recommend Moningside to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

I was very impressed with Morningside of Concord, but they were just beyond our price range. I like that it's a large facility. The people that I met were very professional and able to answer the questions I asked. They also appeared to have very good rooms for the residents' families to hang out in if they visit.
Thank You Sweetly

Morningside of Concord is an amazing, caring, Community. Morningside offers Medication Management; and this is an important daily living tool for residents, and a blessing to know your loved one's are getting their daily medication. Residents receive 3 delicious meals a day, 3 snacks a day, and stay hydrated. When anyone is searching for a Community that is terrific with daily living as far as conversation, dressing, eating, grooming, bathing, transportation; come here to live and feel and see the care your loved one(s) receive. I personally visit my parents 3 - 4 days a week, and I live in Salisbury and work too. Every Resident is special and every Staff Worker is special.I personally have had moments of crying and multiple staff embraced me with caring remarks that helped me out and I was back to being peaceful. The Residents have indoor & outdoor activities; and Family Night every other month on a Thursday night with a musician and finger food that is finger licking good. Throughout the week, the Residents have a full Activity schedule to participate with if the Resident chooses to participate. My parents love the Activities with the singing; and if you think about it; singing is soothing to my parents due to Dementia. Singing brings a joy to their faces and their inner-selves. Even the mailboxes are special for my parents; with my Daddy, a 32 years of service Postmaster; the mailboxes are the closed-in boxes to where nobody can reach in and get other resident's mail. My parents have lived here for 3 plus years. My brother and I do not have to worry daily about their day to day living; as we did in the past. So come and live your life here at Morningside, the care, love, atmosphere is totally awesome.

PLEASE do not put your family member here!!!! At least not in the Memory Care part! Their only focus is money and protecting themselves from liability!! Supervisors are basically only there M-F 9-5. There is NO attention to detail in caring for the residents. They do the minimum required. They sometimes leave the residents sitting in the dining room from one meal to the next! I could on and one, but if I can keep ONE family from subjecting their family member to the poor quality of care for a very expensive price this review will have done its job! It is very impressive "initial" impression, but I can promise you will not be happy with the way your family member is treated!!!!!!!!!!!

Morningside is wonderful. They’re very good in that they check on mom frequently. Now they had a lot of staff turnover, which has been difficult for the patients, and probably not as attentive as they used to be. The food is terrible. They bring snacks just before a meal. My mom lost a lot of weight. They have food; it’s just not what old people are used to eating. However, the staff of my mom is very, very kind. The place is clean too. The staff is attentive. When mom is sick and she’s having a bad day, they always call me. I think that she’s mainly being taken care of, and they’re doing that. They have an onsite doctor, but we stayed with the doctor that’s taking care of mom before we went there.

Everybody is very nice, and the food is delicious at Morningside of Concord. It is clean. My parents have a little suite with a kitchenette, a bedroom, and a bathroom. They have outings, a family night once a month, and exercises. I am very pleased with it.

My mom moves in Morningside of Concord over a month ago. We chose it because of the location. It is closer to my work and to my home. Also, they have a memory care unit where nursing ratio is 8 to 1. They go on outings, go out for meals and go to different places. They have activities within the facility like bingo, chair exercises, and church. They have lots of different games. There is a beauty shop right there in the facility. They are very receptive to mom's needs, and they tailor things to what she needs. Mom has a pretty complex medication regiment, and they are able to keep her on track with that. Actually, she is doing more there than she can at home as far as getting up, getting dressed, and being more independent, but they are there to assist her as well. They take her to her doctors appointments, and that is included in the admission fee. There are three meals and snacks available. Mom gets the menu each week, and she gets to make her choice.

Morning Side was a very nice facility. It was very clean and very friendly. The person who showed us around was very knowledgeable. They had another section for people that had Alzheimer’s. They had different sizes of suites that we could get. However, the price was out of the question at this time. They had a nice kitchen, a dining area, music, and entertainment for the people. They played board games and cards.

Morningside seemed like a nice place, but the living quarters were so little. The staff who assisted me was really nice. I like that they have an inside courtyard so the people could go outside, and they do have outings.
Provider Response
Thank you for your recent visit! We are pleased that you found our staff to be friendly and our community to be a nice place overall! We do recognize that a move from an individual residence to an apartment may initially feel like a smaller space, but find that our residents are quick to start enjoying having many comfortable and spacious living areas (including the interior courtyard you liked), as an extension of their new, cozier living quarters. Our residents that have had this same concern in the beginning share with us that with a full schedule of activities, events, and outings their apartments are more of a sleeping area, and the community is where they LIVE! We thank you for your feedback, your visit, and an opportunity to gain additional guest perspective.

I visited Morningside of Concord because it was close to me. It was a nice place. They had a few rooms, but my dad would have to buy his own furniture and it was $2,000 a month, which he can't afford. I didn't try their food, but they did have a nice menu. What I like about Morningside is that it wasn't a typical assisted living place; it was almost like a retirement home. It was nice. I would recommend this place to others if they could afford it.

We have visited Morningside for my husband. This place was pretty, clean and well-kept. It was a very nice facility. They came to see my husband in the hospital to determine if he would fit into their special care program; however, they decided that they can't take him in. They just didn't want him for some reason or another. It was too bad because I liked for my husband to go into this facility because it was near our home.

My mother is a resident at Morningside and loves it. She loves the staff and every time I visit I leave knowing she is in a place that provides her with everything she needs. As a son I like to see the same consistent staff when visiting mom from the management team to every department. I always see the same smiling faces. I would highly recommend Morningside to anyone who wants to leave the care giving to the experts. They are wonderful!!

My mother currently lives in this community. She now considers Morningside her home. She is very well taken care of and adores the staff all the way from the caregivers to the housekeepers. She tells me she feels like the people at Morningside are part of her family now. She loves the food and tells me she feels like she is at a restaurant for every meal. As a son, the worries I had are now gone knowing that she is so well taken care of.
