My brother was at Clayton House. I like the care. They seemed to monitor everything he needed. The staffers did very well. There was one young man, and he was always there, almost like a family member. My brother never complained about the food. It was very clean and not dirty at all. They did pretty good with it. No smell or anything like that. However, they didn't offer anything like activities. I didn't notice any of that. They also did not have a nurse or anything like that on hand.

I don't like Clayton House. It's a hundred years old plus and so it looks like that, and my brother deserves to live in something better than that. There are too many people there and my brother is not used to a lot of people. The place to me is not a good place. They accepted a power of attorney, which was stated in court, but it was not a valid power of attorney. I don't see how they went ahead with the guardianship arrangement. The place has over 50 people running around looking like zombies, and they're not doing anything when I asked through Skype. He was urinating in the air conditioning unit and no one is trying to do any intervention to see why that is. I found out later on that the medications he's on requires you to go the bathroom at any time. There's no exercise going on, I asked what kind of exercise they give him and he said that the executive director comes to play bingo once a week. He's supposed to have occupational therapy and physical therapy and bingo is all they get. They can sit on a chair and do exercises, and I don't know why they haven't developed a program to do that with these people. I have gotten a copy of the inspection, and the last time I looked at it the health department gave them a zero. The staff, bless their hearts, are doing a wonderful job. They wouldn't let his church pastor see him and pray with him on his birthday. My brother's room broke my heart. When it comes down to the decor, furnishings, all of that, I would give them a zero.

This facility is the best in the country. My father who is currently ill aged turning 86 was transferred from Olivedale Clinic after being there for 5 weeks. They only washed his hair twice there in 5 weeks and did not even bother to wash his face cloth. Clayton House facility is spotless, the entire establishment, even the car parks. The staff are friendly and only too happy to assist. The nursing care is OUTSTANDING. I recommend this facility with happiness in my heart knowing that our beloved father is being looked after properly and ethically. I was previously a nurse and I took one look and knew this was the right place to leave our father who will be taken care of. The only recommendation I would make is that there should be a little canteen for visitors to sit & enjoy coffee or the like as the gardens are also taken care of. Whoever is running Clayton House knows what they are doing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart, I really do. Also to the staff who are proud of what they do. God bless

My brother-in-law loves living in the Clayton House, and things are working great. Everything is great. The food must be good because he eats all that he gets. The dining room is very nice set up with tables. They bring them down from their rooms, seat them in their places, and bring the food to them. It’s really nice. They have a lot of different activities, like church service twice a week. I would just recommend it to anybody.

My aunt is happy at Clayton House. It is a small community and everybody knows each other's names. They do keep an eye on everyone. They are very informative and we can call or go there anytime. It is really a nice place and we really enjoy visiting her there.

Mom used to stay at the Clayton House. The staff was really attentive. However, the halls were very long. Each hall only had 1 bathroom and it's shared by about 20 residents. The bathroom is like that of a gym-type bathroom, so there's wasn't much privacy. Patients weren't monitored. If a dementia patient needed to go to the bathroom, how would he know where to go? In the beginning the food was good, but the more my mom continued to stay at Clayton, it became eerie. The food was sometimes served in paper plates. On a couple of occasions, I witnessed that they served the cheapest out of the box pizzas. They had it on a regular basis.
