My father-in-law was at Somerset Court of Cherryville. I liked the level of care and the staff. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They had a good attitude. There weren't many options in food and it's a limited menu. They had plenty of activities there. They had bingo, movie night, and gift exchange for holidays and birthdays. They celebrate everyone's birthday. They took them out at Christmastime. They went to a parade. They'll take them shopping. They go to Wal-Mart and local stores in the area. They had a lot of people who were bedridden or in wheelchairs. The staff was so busy.

I've already got my father in an assisted living facility in North Carolina -- Somerset Court. It is very nice, especially the people who worked to have a private room, which is what my father's request was. He wanted to be in a room by himself. Also, he is a big TV watcher and, although they have direct TV in the facility, he is used to having more, so they allowed him more channels. He's been there since Father's Day, so in the three weeks he has been there, it has changed management. Now they are under the Meridian, and the food is more heart healthy, which he doesn't like, but I think that it is more conscientious for him. The food, he is not so thrilled about, but it is probably better for his heart and his well-being. They have activities; however my father doesn't socialize like that, so the activities that they have, I have no idea what they are. I know that they have Bingo, trivia games, and weekly outings to a Walmart or to a Dollar General or that type of thing, so if you need some items, you can do that. Other than that, I am not sure because like I said, he doesn't do that. He just watches TV in his room. There are some things that they could change, but they are working towards that. The rooms have carpet in them, and they said that they were going to actually go to a hardwood kind of a linoleum type of thing, which will be better for the residents, so that would be a plus. Other than that, I really don't have any general complaints about the facility by any means.
