My aunt was moved to another facility without notifying any family. Previously since 2012 the care and communication was quite good. Since the recent turnover of management has changed for the worse. When she was moved to another facility, they were told the family had all died!! Fortunately we went for a visit and located her. Very scary place due to the new management. They need to be investigated.

My mother was a resident for 8 months. During that time there was tremendous staff turnover due to poor management. My mother had medication errors and I ultimately had to remove her. As her POA, I was denied access to her belongings and the facility still has possession of some of her things. There was also a roach and ant problem. I had to keep traps in my mothers room.

At Cedar Mountain House we pride ourselves regarding the care we provide to our residents. We work hard to create a family like atmosphere where we keep the residents as engaged as they would like to be; activities include bingo, puzzles, games, crafts and even Nintendo Wii bowling. We have an onsite beauty salon, rehabilitation with Broad River, the food is fantastic and most employees have been with us for years. I am proud to be with Cedar Mountain House and hope you would consider speaking with us when it comes time for a safer option for you or your loved one.

I like Cedar Mountain House and would recommend it to others with family members who need help with their medicines, meals, showers and such. The building is clean and did not smell like an old folks' home. I liked the meal I had (grilled chicken and mixed vegetables). The staff was courteous and genuinely concerned. I found it to be a peaceful and rather quiet place. And it was affordable. We will seriously consider it for our mother when she is ready for assisted living.

We ended up with staying where my mother is. The name of the place is Cedar Mountain House. It just didn't seem like a hospital environment and more like an apartment complex kind of place. I like it. It is close to where I live, and it is just convenient for me. The staff seems to do a good job and is knowledgeable. They seem to care about the residents. They kind of let them do for themselves what they can and then help them with everything else.

I didn't like Cedar Mountain House. It is not a place that I would want to take my mother to. It was very depressing. If my mother was beyond knowing what was going on, I would consider taking her there, but it was very depressing. The staff was very nice. I did like that. The director was the one who showed me around, and he was very nice. He seemed to be very compassionate, and he knew the residents. He took time in answering questions that I had. However, the condition of the residents, they were very advanced in their dementia. This community was a lockdown unit, and that’s because of the severity of the residents there. It was very run-down. Those had to be taken into consideration as well. One thing I did like about the Cedar Mountain is the cost. It was closer to what we could afford. It was more affordable. It was also very close to me.
