My friend is at The Bristal at Westbury. Everything has been excellent, very caring, very helpful, and very attentive. It's been really better than I thought it would be. He has everything he needs. His room is very, very clean and very spacious. His room is totally what he needs. It's perfect. I like the amount of attention that they give to him and their responsiveness. If I ask a question, I get an answer right away. If I ask for anything additional, they let me know how to do that. It's been a really good experience. All the meals are well balanced and very delicious. I ate there last week with him, and it was the best meal I've had in a while. It's very, very, very good and a very good choice and variety. For different people with different diets, whether they're on salt free or sugar limited, there's enough choices. There's something for everyone. It's also a very nice restaurant style dining. They organize trips to local stores. They have a movie theater, a hair salon and barbershop. They have an activity center where they do various different types of bingo. He's not into any of this, but I've seen it all day long. When I go there, I see others participating. There's quite a bit to do. There are several living rooms and sunrooms that you can go and sit in. If you don't want to be in your room and you want to socialize with others (rather than asking them into your room), you can go into a big living room and sit with them. He loves the food. He's gained some weight, which he needed to do since he's been there. All assisted living is expensive, but I think the value is there compared to others that I've seen. We live in New York, and I have an aunt in a different state where it's a lot less expensive. It's the nature of the state she lives in. For where we live, the value is very good.

We toured The Bristal Assisted Living at Westbury for my mom. We liked it because it was close to my house, and it was very pleasing when you walked in. Everything looked very nice, and it was clean. Everyone seemed happy. The staff was very accommodating. There were some women getting manicures when we were there. It was manicure day. There was some music playing for a party that they were having. Some residents were just sitting in the little bistro lounge having coffee. The food was delicious. There was quite a variety of items. There was something on the menu for everyone. The apartments were very nice. The studio was big enough for my mom. It is the one she can afford, so it was definitely big enough. They were neat and clean.

Everything about The Bristal Assisted Living at Westbury was lovely. It was a beautiful place and everything was clean. They had little areas where people could sit, a little coffee area, and an outdoor area. Everybody was very nice. Their restaurant looked gorgeous. It was high-end and I look forward to eating there. I even met the chef. They have a beauty salon where you can get your hair and nails done. It's open on Thursdays, which I thought was wonderful. They also have knitting groups, an arts and crafts room where they leave out jigsaw puzzles for the residents to work on, different types of classes, dancing, music, bingo, and a little movie theater where they play a movie daily. There's a lot of activities to keep them active.

The Bristal Assisted Living at Westbury was actually a better choice for us. The person who gave us the tour was lovely. Just that the rooms were smaller and it costs more.

My tour at The Bristal at Westbury was very good. It was a very nice facility, it just wasn't a good fit for us. The staff who gave the tour was a very nice lady. She was very knowledgeable, very positive, and just very forthcoming. Their apartments were on the smaller side, but they were very nice with nice amenities. The facility was very clean and their amenities were fine. I saw the recreational room, they also have a bistro area which looks a little more lively and I saw one man there and he was watching some ESPN. So they had activities for people to do, but I wasn't there during a time of the day when anything was going on because it was around dinner service time. I know the activities were available and I saw the calendars for those things, but they were pretty similar to what the sister community was offering as well. The dining area smells a little bit more like a cafeteria. The facilities were very nice, but if I had to compare, the other place had more space.

We did do the personal visit at The Bristal Assisted Living at Westbury. We brought my mom-in-law there to see it, and then we went back again three days later to do the medical eval to determine what level of care she needs. Throughout the process, they were kind, and they never got frustrated with the number of questions that we asked. One of the big selling points, beyond the fact that we really just like the place, is that, unlike most places, it has the Medicaid assisted living program. We're starting out as private pay, but a few years down the road, if she's God willing still around, and we run out of funds, she'll be able to convert to Medicaid, and still stay in the same facility, which to us was a big deal. The staff member was very friendly and outgoing. She never got frustrated with the number of questions we asked. I felt like she was very honest with her answers, even though some of the questions were difficult. We didn't feel rushed in any way to make a decision. They had select apartments that were at a slightly reduced rate, which was an incentive, but it wasn't certainly wasn't the only factor. She was very responsive. She always called me back after I left a message. She really seemed to genuinely care about the place and the residents, which I think is really important. She was good. They have a chef, and they make their food daily. We asked all those questions, we saw the menus, and we saw residents eating. The other thing about this place that is somewhat different from the others is that they're still very cautious with respect to COVID precautions. They kept their cleaning protocols in place, and they haven't changed them in any way, but they also didn't relax their visiting or their masking, for example. They didn't eliminate or reduce any of those restrictions. They were told by the Department of Health they could, but lo and behold, along came Delta, and they didn't have any cases. They fared really well, and I believe it was because of their caution. There's always people around that you can see cleaning. It's bright, it's sunny, it's inviting, and it's got the stuff that really makes people want to be there. It's newly redecorated. They have quite a bit of outdoor space. As a matter of fact, my mom-in-law's apartment is going to look out over a terrace that they have with their fountains and such. They have adequate outdoor space.

My mom has been in The Bristal for about a month now. It is great and she is very happy there. It is an excellent community with good care and good food. The staff members are very helpful and very friendly. They go above and beyond and they have a lot of activities, too. My mom is very thrilled with where she sits in the dining area. She loves the food. The place is very clean and well kept, but it is a little expensive.

The Bristal at Westbury would be my first choice. It has everything. When you walk in, you smell the food and want to eat it. It's a beautiful community, absolutely stunning. The staff is very nice. They have a lot of activities on a calendar. The price is expensive and not affordable at $2,000 more a month than what we pay for in the place we chose. The people there were very nice. It's located close to town, not too far from the mall and a lot of shopping in the area.

The Bristal Assisted Living at Westbury was very clean, nice, and well-kept. The person who assisted me was very pleasant and gave me a very informative tour. They have a salon, a game room, a 24-hour snack bar, and also a private dining room to entertain family.

I liked the way the Bristal was situated and the openness of it. It was a newer building, and it was clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I saw 2 rooms, and they looked spacious. I saw a room they called shared, but it had their own bathrooms, which was a good thing. I also saw a private room, and it was OK. Their dining area was set up like a little restaurant, which was nice.

The Bristal at Westbury was a much older facility, but the staff explained that one area at a time was being renovated. It was still a lovely place. It felt like a hotel, was extremely clean, and had an upbeat atmosphere. They were celebrating an event that seemed like a lot of fun. There were a lot of activities and invited writers and readers to come in. They had an association with the library, so there was a system of book lending, plus a lovely theater. What I loved about the Bristal in Westbury was that when you walk outside, the train station is right there. Not only was there a beautiful community, but people who didn’t have a car were able to get on a train and go places. It was in a beautiful town, so you could walk to a restaurant and stores.

I signed up my father at The Bristal. The people are all very friendly. It is very clean, very well kept, and maintained. They have activities, like bingo and cards, and some trips, but my father hasn’t really tried those out yet. They are serving three meals a day. Everybody is very attentive and very friendly.

My grandmother is now in the Bristal at Westbury, and she says she's comfortable and happy. The room is cozy, and she has her own fridge, kitchen, and bathroom. They have bingo, dominoes, cards, and sports activities, like exercise classes. They also have people come in for group singing, arts and crafts, and more. They take them out to the community and have their own beauty parlor in there where they do their hair and nails every week. They have a movie theater, and sometimes they go out to the movies or go out to eat. They celebrate every holiday, whether you're Jewish or whatever you are, so it’s like a general celebration, which is very good. They have a variety of people, and it doesn’t matter what language you speak because they have staff that speaks different languages. I would really recommend someone to put their family there. It's always clean, doesn’t smell, and very nice.

We like Bristal Westbury for my mother. The facility was wonderful. I really like it and think my mother would really like it, too. I like the whole atmosphere. The people seemed busy doing things. The staff seemed very nice and attentive to the residents. The room that we were looking at was very small but clean. The whole place was very clean. It seemed they have a daily schedule of activities going on. The dining room was very nice -- you feel like you're in a nice restaurant -- and the food was very good.

My Mom was a resident for just 2 weeks before becoming ill. The Wellness staff did not recognize that she was not feeling well and forced her to go to the dining room for lunch, even though she was sick. She wound up falling in her room because she was so weak. Two days later, she wound up in the hospital with severe bronchitis. We kept/paid for her room for 2 months hoping she would go back after her hospital stay, but she never did. We realized that they could not care for her and we didn't trust them. We paid a total of $13,000 and we only received a $2,680 reimbursement, which was for extras due us, (shower/med management), since she obviously did not receive these services while in the hospital. Bottom line: Administration was very accommodating during our tour and seemed sincere, but once my Mom became a Resident, we couldn't even get them on the phone to ask a question. They didn't even answer my emails. DO NOT send your loved one here. Its just a business to these people and they have no compassion. They are just into making money and could care less about the Residents.

My mom is at The Bristal. The staff is wonderful. Dining is excellent. Everything is very good. The apartments are very clean. They have dancing and bingo. They take residents out to dinner, they provide transportation, and they take them to shows. It is very good. They have holiday parties. It is very nice. Everybody is well dressed. They know all the residents. It is amazing! The facility is also secure.

The Bristal is very nice, clean, and modern. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The people are more independent, and are involved in the activities. The staff is very nice. My dad is in a friendship suite, and has to share the bathroom. They have a lot of trips and a lot of activities going on. It would be best for people who do not have so many issues going on.

I was very impressed by all this facility had to offer. There are a lot of options for activities and numerous areas within the facility for someone to be during the course of the day. I got a very warm feeling when I was there.

Bristal at Westbury was really nice. It was also a little older than the one we had looked at. Nevertheless, it appeared taken care of very well. You could definitely be proud to bring people there. However, they did not have the two-bedroom apartments that my parents wanted.

When I visited The Bristal, I can see that the place is very clean and well kept. The staff were very nice and very professional. They ushered me around to the dining room and the common area in which the residents are taken to. Their kitchen room was very, very small. They also showed me a studio-type room in which the bedroom is also small.

I thought the Bristal at Westbury was great. The lady who gave us the tour, Gloria, was very, very nice. You could tell that she loves her job. She really was helpful and she wanted to make my father feel comfortable. The place was very clean. I think the reason my father didn't want to select this place is the location. It's in a very commercial area and right next to the train station. But it's a very beautiful place. It's just right so close to the road and there's not a lot of property.

The entire environment is amazing. The staff, at least who I see when I go, is amazing and is great with my grandmother. Whenever she needs help, all I see are smiling faces and the nursing are just great. The facility itself is very clean and well organized; I never have any issues finding where I need to go. I visit my grandmother frequently and so far I think we all made a great choice in choosing Bristal as her new home. They have a lot of events, such as fitness classes and support groups to keep her and her neighbors occupied. Everyday, there are a variety of activities anyone can participate in (including me when I go visit her). When I go to visit her I can tell she is right at home (since I know some seniors see assisted living as their family abandoning them) it makes me so happy to see her in her element at Bristal

The atmosphere is great when you enter. It doesn't feel like an assisted living. They make great friendships with the other people. He wasn't unhappy or anything. He even had a girlfriend and he was flirting with her all the time. If I was to get old I would want to be at an assisted living because I can make friends and never be lonely. Life is too short to stay home all alone. They have planned meals daily on time. They would never forget to take their medications because even if they did there is always somebody to remind them and make sure that they take their medications on time. It is fun and safe environment both for men and women. For my friend's grandfather it was surely better than him staying with his daughter and be home alone. He is very happy to be there and that is all that matters.

The place seemed very friendly. The place was clean. It seemed like a loving a care environment. Everyone seemed to get along. The prices are more than reasonable. You have so many things right here in one place. They have people who come in and sing to the residents and they have numerous different activities available to them. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is looking for an assisted living type of home. Even though family members don't live with you in the facility they will always feel welcomed. The caring and loving staff make them feel right at home when they come to visit. Just my one visit made me feel like I was apart of the family. My grandmother felt very comfortable as if she was being left in good hands. Thats something that you look for when you look around for facilities. Somewhere that you can call home.

The staff was extremely friendly. This made visiting easy and convenient. The facilities were kept very well. From what I could tell the care given was excellent. My great grandmother was 93 years old when she lived here and she seemed happier here than when she was living on her own.

The facility was as expected, the staff was friendly, my aunt was well taken care of and i heard minimal complaints. at times i would recieve calls from my aunt saying the facility was neglectful at times but whenever i came to visit they seemed attentive and rather friendly. overall the place seemed like a good choice for her and shes happy with the assistance because many things she can't do alone and I work long hours so i can't be there to help her whereas they can. i put complete trust in their service and would reccomend others.

My Aunt was a resident of the Britol in Westbury and I thought the facility was very professional and caring. She prevviously stayed at anothe rfacillity for aout 4 months and it was a nightmare as far a care goes. At the Britol the staff was so caring they treated her as though she was part of there family. When ever we went to visit her she always had a smile on her face. The bristol was a wonderful place for my aunt to spend her last year pf her life.. I would highly recommend it to anyone. As I said I had other facilities to compare it with and it was indeed the best place for our loved one to be taken care of.

The residents who live at The Westbury Bristal are there because they need assistance with their daily lives. Many of the residents that I encountered at the facility eventually grew to like having their lives orchestrated. The residents typically would complain about the afternoon entertainment of budding artists coming in for the afternoon to sing them "happy songs." The staff or anyone who was around, would be in charge of taking the residents down to the party room for that afternoon's event. Most of the residents would mostly sleep throughout the event or sneak off when nobody was looking. It wasn't uncommon to walk into the facility and see the residents asleep in the party room, café or just catching a snooze on the seats of their walkers in a hallway. Having their hair and nails done was a big part of the resident's day. Even if they didn't want their hair done, they would be called numerous times to come down or an aide would go to their room and escort them down to the salon. Most of the residents would stop coming to the salon because the prices were too high or they didn't like being forced to get a service done simply because their name appeared on a list. The main reason the residents didn't like coming to get their hair done, was because the chairs were unsafe. The shampoo chair was broken for years. The chair would not lock and residents would have to hold on when sitting in the chair. This caused the chair to move and the resident would lose their balance and almost hit the floor if no one was there to help them into the chair. The maintenance department was notified about the chair, but nothing was ever done. We were told by the maintenance man that the administration was not going to fix the chair because they had empty rooms to fill and could not worry about fixing a chair. A new chair was not in the budget.
