My mom was a resident of St. Catherine of Siena Nursing And Rehabilitation Care Center. It's a very happy, bright place. The nursing staff is excellent. They take the time to explain things to the families. They treated my mother very well. They pushed her into eating. They made sure she was up and clean and out of bed, and the physical therapy was tremendous. The nursing staff and the food were excellent. Everyone there is pleasant. I mean, if they couldn't help you with something, they found somebody who could. They were very good. The activities were great. They made sure that there was socialization among the patients. So it was nice meeting other people and it was a nice experience. The facility is very airy and very open. Everybody's happy and you don't feel like you're walking into a prison when you go there. The value for money was excellent. They did take insurance. And in fact, the other community used up all her benefits with Medicare. So, they gave us a prorated bill with a discount. I mean, that was very nice for them. I was happy to pay that even though the other one screwed everything up.

St. Catherine of Siena was very good. My wife has been there several times and everything there was near perfect. The rehab was very good. The food was pretty good, too. You fill out a weekly menu and they have selections. If you don't like something, you can get the substitutes. Everything was neat, clean, and up to date. The people were very kind, attentive, and very professional. They did whatever my wife needed to have done. For instance, if she felt like going to bed early, somebody came right in and helped her. If she had something else to do, they took care of her. They had programs during the day. People come in and talk to them, so it's not like they're sitting around alone.

My stepmom is in St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center. She loves it there. It's clean, and although they are a little short staffed, they are wonderful with the residents. They had a lot of activities prior to COVID, like they bring people in to sing songs and stuff like that. They had to shut down visiting because someone was tested positive. However, they can have window visits, and no other place has had that, that I know of. So you can still see your loved one and cheer them up a bit. The facility is way opposite the hospital, so it's in a really good location too.

The care provided is outstanding. The facility is spotless and very clean. The staff of nurses, aides, therapists and social workers are outstanding. They go above and beyond for the patient. There aren't enough kind words to choose one that describes the level of care provided. I would highly recommend this facility.

I was at this facility from Oct 25th - November 19th 2018. I had breathing issues and cardiac issues. I was transferred from St. Catherine's Hospital. Rooms were clean and food was good. PT was awesome Donna and Jen were my PT therapists and really helped bund my stamina and get off oxygen which I was using 24/7 for 2 weeks. They helped provide services when I came home and that gave me full recovery. The nurses Landinand Chris were efficient and listened to their patients needs. My aides were mostly good however these girls gave too many patients and wait times for bathroom, bed or food needs could be over 30 min. However Cassie exhibited professional care and always with a sense of urgency. She was organized and the patients were happy. Kristen n Paige were also good but at times overwhelmed at night bc of staff being short handed. They had a hair salon which was opened in Friday's allowing patients to get a cut or dye for very fair prices. It built morale for those long term. Overall good experience.

Construction is almost complete and the rooms are beautiful. The staff is outstanding! Kind, compassionate and always keep me informed on my fathers progress/decline. I am a Director of Nursing for a similar facility in NJ-if I cant have my dad with me...I choose St Catherine's! Outstanding 5 star care!

Mu dad was here fro 5 weeks in which time they actually got him strong enough to go through hip replacement surgery and even got the surgery scheduled in 4 days! The aides were so supportive and helpful even though my dad was a little irritable and grouchy at times. He did so well he went home one week after surgery and is now walking with a cane! He is 90 and had become almost bedridden from pain. Can't say enough about St. Catherine's from the top to the bottom- a great facility.

My mom was transported there after a hip replacement. The physical therapy staff is wonderful and the facility itself is very clean. The nurses and aids are HORRIFIC! They forgot to give medication to the patients, they make them wait 45+ minutes to be taken to the bathroom and most are just downright nasty. I will NEVER recommend this facility and will be filing a formal complaint.

I was transported to St Catherine’s Rehabilitation Facility following spinal surgery at Stony Brook Hospital. The physical therapy staff was dedicated and challenging. The facility was exceptionally clean and my room and bathroom were thoroughly cleaned every AM. The nurses and aids were professional and kind. I cannot imagine having a better experience anywhere. Thank you all for your exceptional care.

My husband was in the rehabilitation center for 29 days and I am very happy with the care he received. The nurses and aids were wonderful. I would recommend this center to anyone that needs this type of care.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone. My grandmother is there and she has been neglected in several ways, despite the father going there every other day and constantly being on top of her medical and physical needss. An infected toe was completely ignored until she required ER treatment, she was over medicated, which was related to doctor appointments which were not arranged (but she was medicated anyway). This happened on three occasions despite assurances that this would not happen, my grandmother was found souled, with no undergarments on several occasions and for the first few years, her teeth were. never brushed, which resulted in her losing many teeth. When she entered the facility, she had had 1-2 cavities in her whole life. There have been many issues with providing my grandmother with a proper space for visiting with family as well. The administrator of the facility is indifferent to family concerns and never communicates or returns phone calls when there are concerns.

My mom had her rehab at St. Catherine of Siena. The experience was okay. She was happy with the food and the therapy. I thought that was probably one of the better rehabs that she was in. She was there for three weeks, and it was satisfying.

My father went into this facility for rehabilitation and contracted c diff as well. Sadly, he passed away after battling the c diff for weeks. I felt his care was less than adequate and required us being there around the clock to ensure he was cared for. After everything that I have read about this disease, I feel that this could have been avoided with proper sterilization and cleaning. This is a rehab/nursing facility. Patients are there because they are weak from accidents, stroke victims, or just general nursing home residents. Some of these people enter very weak, and sadly my loved one never made it home.

My mother was a resident of this facility for just about 6 weeks recently. She was diagnosed 2 times with infectious diarreah commonly referred to as c-diff by the staff. This is a terrible germ that lucks in these types of facilities and unless properl staff hygeine is maintained spread from resident to resident. My mother almost lost her battle with this deadly germ. Thankfu;;y we raised enough rucus and she was transferred back into the hospital where it has taken approximately 6 weeks to recover. She is now totally unable to walk due to weakness & lack of being able to get up from being so sick. Now she needs to go back into a rehab facility..DEFINITELY NOT this one. We'll try a new one this time round.

My mother is in this facility as a patient in the dementia or Alzheimer's unit. The unit itself is very secure, you have to have a password that you punch into the keypad at the entrance to the unit. This prevents the patients from entering or exiting on their own. The reason for this is that patients in this kind of unit tend to wander. They love to roam in and out of eachothers rooms almost all day. The hallways in this unit have couches, chairs and pianos and it resembles a hotel rather than a nursing home. Almost all the patients are mobile and 85% of them are women. When you visit, you may have other patients dropping by your area to listen or try to talk to you or hold your hand. If you bring a child, watch out, the women go crazy, trying to grab the children and pick them up. You have to be on your toes. The best thing about St. Catherine's are the visiting hours, you can show up any time all day long. They do try to keep you from coming after nine p.m. because they have to get the patients to bed. I am totally at ease when I visit and I would recommend this facility to others and their loved ones.
