Every staff member of St John’s from the administration to the maintenance service wants to make us safe, comfortable, and enjoying our meals. Plus we have the longest running and greatest transportation service. The apartments are designed to be easy to accommodate our needs. There are gyms, a pool, libraries, exercise classes, movies, etc. The Vice President of the company that oversees residential life worked hard for weeks to obtain a Covid vaccine clinic to come to our apartments to administer it to us.

St. John's Meadows was nice. It was hard to learn your way around, but they had a pool and a woodshop, which were great. We had a meal there, and it was good. It was an ala carte thing. I had grilled cheese.

St. John's Meadows is where we're moving to tomorrow. We ended up only getting a one-bedroom-one-bathroom place. We were looking for at least two bathrooms, but we're on a waiting list, and there are only five people ahead of us, but we can make it work with one bathroom. The thing that got us was that everything is available. It's a very nice apartment. The price of a one-bedroom-one-bath on the second floor is $2200, I think. But they bundle and for a flat price of $1100 added onto your rent, we get three meals a day instead of two at the other facility, so that's the three meals a day, and unlimited rides at any place in Monroe County. They're very friendly people. They don't choose who can live there. But there's just a common thread of cohesiveness. There are a lot of activities going on. They have an indoor heated pool, 82 degrees year-round. I also got a garage as part of that bundle. We now only have two corgis, one died last week. But we had three corgis, and they were going to let us bring all three of them. The staff return calls, and they follow through. They are very pleasant to work with. The woman that took us on the tour and explained everything to us, she's still watching over us, and she's been there 28 years. I've never seen a better staff. Everybody there is so friendly, it's striking us. We went for lunch yesterday down in the Market Café. I had a special of the day. I like creamed chipped beef on toast and that was their special of the day for lunch, and it was fine. They have some workout rooms, they have the pool, and craft classes, and they have a lot of activities and a lot of places where you can just casually gather with other people. For the buck, they are $1,000 a month cheaper than the other place.

I visited St. John's Meadows. It's a very clean environment. The staff is very attentive. They seem to provide the attention and detail that the residents need. They have a movie room, they have their own cafe, they also have a beauty salon. Of course, they have games and a lot of activities for the residents. I have eaten there, and the food is very good. They have a personal chef that works there, and they have a menu. They also deliver to various units. So, if a resident is unable to come to the facility physically, based on where the resident may live, they can deliver the food to the individual apartment.

We checked St. John's Meadows for my cousin and his wife. It's independent living, and they have really great facilities. The way it was laid out, though, it would have been too much of a hassle for him to get over to St. John's skilled nursing where his wife would be; they're not colocated. It's an excellent community. In fact, I had a relative who was there for a number of years and she absolutely loved it. I can remember her saying you can never say you're bored there because there's so much to do. I think overall the place is very active. During my tour, I saw they had a swimming pool and massages. It's great that they have graduated care too. They have an independent living and an assisted living, and then you can move into St. John's skilled nursing if you need it. It's an overall comprehensive program.

My Dad has been here over 4 years and the care is wonderful. The talented staff have the task of learning what each resident is accustomed to and caring for them in that manner. The administration, nurses, care givers and staff are special people and a 24/7 blessing in my life. The food is delicious and they cater to the residents requests. Activities and entertainment are provided daily.

My parents moved into St John Meadows and were away for an extended length of time. They returned to find their safe opened and my mothers heirloom jewelry missing. The security guard at St. Johns was arrested for stealing from other residents that were gone. St. Johns new my parents were out of town for an extended period of time and never called them or us to notify us of what happened. My brother found a letter in their mailbox regarding the burglary and went in the apartment to see if anything was stolen. He saw the safe opened but did not notify my parents because he new that they couldn't explain what was in the safe until their return. Upon their return they notified the police and St. Johns of the theft. Nothing could be done for them. St. Johns went through a lot of motions and nothing was resolved. My parents moved out immediately. They are 90 and 93. So beware of this facility. The safety of my parents is why we chose St. Johns. We were proactive in following up with what happened but St. John's took no action unless we pushed for answers and pushed for them to submit a claim to their insurance company. Again nothing happened. The administrator never got back to us about the claim. we emailed him and called him. The lack of caring and understanding of what they went through was not shown by the administrator of St John Meadows either. Again please be aware that this is a money making business and not really a business for the care of the elderly. My parents were very upset and still our and do not trust any facility. They are living on their own now. This incident has caused our family many sleepless nights and frustration. It could have been handled better with communicating with the people that were gone and really investigating every empty apartment. The letter stated it was thoroughly investigated and it was not!!!

St. Johns Meadows was the only one that offered all inclusive meal plans or you could not pay for the meals and just pay as you go like if you decided to go for dinner, you would just pay for dinner. Out of all the places, if I could give it a 10, I would give a 10. It was really my favorite of them all.

We chose St John's Meadows because that is the one she liked the best. It was her decision because it what she wanted. She likes it there. They make a lot for her to do, and she likes the food. I really believe it is really nice. She likes that the apartment is nice too. It is a nice layout, and there is a lot for her to do so she can't get bored. I like their socialization.

I have been here at St. John Meadows for 9 years, and I couldn’t ask for anything else. It’s truly great. The staff is wonderful. The senior advocates here are so helpful. We go shopping and pick up prescriptions. There are so many activities that you have to choose from.

The person that showed us around Saint John's Meadows was very well informed. It seemed a compatible place. We didn't see any activities, but they told us about them.

We looked a lot of facilities, and St. John's Meadows looks like the best for my mother. She likes the meals, and that would be the best thing, I think. The staff is OK. They seem to have a lot of activities, a wide array of them. I think the rooms are quite nice and spacious. It also looked clean.

St. John's Meadows is just a short distance from my home. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The fact that they are not a la carte, that is one price, was great because we didn't have to worry that if her condition deteriorated that we would have to pay more. It's a beautiful place. The rooms were very nice. You could get a 1-bedroom. They have a lot of different things. They have lectures and discussions, clubs, arts and crafts, as well as other kinds of recreation. It really felt homey.

St. John's Meadows is mostly independent. There is the part that's assisted but not much. I have an apartment that is a fairly good size and I cook my own meals. I don't go down for dinner. They have a lot of activities, bridge, euchre, all sorts of things. I have not participated too much because I haven't been here very long. It's a very nice place. The people are friendly here. If you have any questions about anything, they certainly are willing to answer and it's a very nice facility all around.

My experiences visiting my grandfather at St. John's Meadows were quite positive. The facility is highly-equipped to assist seniors of all abilities accomplish many goals. Whether the residents wish to quietly rent a small home along the perimeter of the property, or live within the main buildings in the center of the campus, there was something for everyone. Being more active and able than some other residents, my grandfather was able to rent a small two bedroom home in the community.Exploring St. John's Meadows was an interesting adventure, as there were so many different aspects to it that made it wonderful for seniors and their visitors. The staff in the main office was incredibly helpful and welcoming, always willing to tell us where to go for certain activities and events. There was a heated indoor pool in the facility that my grandpa could make sure was open simply by flipping onto an in-house TV channel, which revealed a video feed for the pool house. The only negative issue with the community at St. John's Meadows was the access to the main entrance. It is located on a very busy road in Rochester, and has no traffic light at the entrance's intersection with the road. Turning left out of the community onto this road was nearly impossible, and quite dangerous for even a young and alert adult like myself. I always worried that my grandpa was going to attempt a difficult left turn exiting his community and get into a car accident.
