We moved my dad to The Emerald Peek for rehabilitation purposes early in March. After talking with them, we found out that we could actually keep him in the skilled nursing facility since we were very impressed with what they did. The staff is excellent and treat my dad like he's their grandpa. They constantly give him attention and take care of him very well. My dad seems to be much better, much more attentive, has a smile on his face, and is talking with everyone. He's really doing well in this place, so we're happy to have him there. I didn't try the food but my sister and mom ate with my dad a few times, and the food was fine, and they adjust it to his liking. They make sure that there's nothing that he has to really chew on aggressively. My dad's room is not nearly as pretty as some of the assisted living places since it's a very basic double room, and he's with somebody else. They have a TV and a few chairs in there. It's more like a hospital room but it's very comfortable it works for him very well. The place is a little dingy and not the prettiest looking place around, but their service is great and excellent. They actually get him involved in activities like singing, music, and dance. They also have chair yoga and physical therapy. It's pretty expensive, though.

My mother stayed for a short time at West Ledge and I didn't care for them that much. It was not as nice as where she is right now. The place was smaller and older.

I have a relative that is a resident at this nursing home. I feel, for the most part, the facility is clean. The staff seems friendly enough. They are also willing to help. There have been some issues with the roommates that have been placed with my relative. Once the staff discovered what was happening the issue was resolved. The doctors that are involved in my relative's care seem to be on top of things. They do notify us with any concerns. There have been some issues with the billing of medicaid. We have had to stay on top of that process from the beginning. A lot of paperwork can fall through the cracks and that messes up the whole process.
