My father passed at this facility in 2022 without any Hospice care. The administration does not allow Hospice into the veteran’s home for its residents even though Hospice services are provided by Medicare at no cost to the nursing home. There are currently no HOSPICE services at this Veterans Nursing Home. This is no way to take care of our Veterans. Unbelievable!!!! MCPO USN (Ret.)

Veterans Home is only twenty years old. It was built in 2001, and it's just one floor. All the rooms have bay windows, so each bed is by a bay window. On days when things are really strict there, as far as visitation with COVID, at least your family member can come to the window. Even though there are 342 beds, they are distributed into these six pods, and each pod has forty-something residents. Each of those sections have their own nurse's station and their own stuff going on, so you're really not in a building where 200-something people are using the same facilities. Each pod has its own entity. Aesthetically, it looks beautiful, and it's gorgeous. They also have beautiful grounds, and there's a VA hospital just across the street.
