The Woodlands is a three story building with 41 apartments. The place does not apear to build appropriately for seniors. The front door has been frequently out of order which residents lock out in this cold weather. Apt 101 and Apt 102 do not have effective heating system, which needs separate heaters in the bathroom and living room. They have one elevator and the seniors stuck inside two times for the past six months. It was a terrible experience for my mom and her friends. I was surprised that they don't have an emergency power generator in case of power outrage. They don't have a proper fire prevention system and resident education program, which concerns me because many residents with limited mobility will not be able to evacuate building in case of fire emergency. One good part is that they provide residents with a great dining services, lunch (11:30 am) and dinner(4:30pm) from Wed. through Sat and Sunday brunch (11:00am). The residents eat together at the meal time and socialize. However, the biggest concern is staff. Currently, one staff (the building director) does multiple roles with management, sales, and entertainment. As a result, they lack recreational activities because they frequently lose staff. A wonderful staff who dearly loved by all residents just quit a few weeks ago he worked for the Woodlands less than seven months. He was worried the overall atmosphere created in the community due to administrative leadership. Through many months experiences at the Woodlands I am certain that the building director has to come up with constructive strategies to keep staff and to run the place. The fact that the building director has to do several staff responsibilities indicates they are not able to effectively meet the residents needs at this time. Most residents are very nice. They deserve a peaceful and pleasant environment through better management strategies. Otherwise, the residents would move to other senior living communities in near future. I certify the information above is true, complete, and correct to the best of my knowledge.

The Woodlands at Stonebrook was quite nice. It was just too far away from anything like going shopping or go someplace else. The tour went well, though. The staff was very interested in us.
