The nursing home that I am in is Daughters of Jacob. Some things I liked, and some things I didn't like. They can be a little bit more organized than what they are if they are trying to get it together because it is going under new management. I can't say it is all bad. Some things are good, so I can say that my experience is OK. The nursing staff is pretty good, and this is what impressed me the most. You receive therapy here, and the therapy is great. The room I am in is pretty big. I think some things can be done better than what has been done. The beds are quite old. I have had some appointments that went awry, but they fixed that. They don't have enough staff on the floors at certain times, and when you call, it takes them longer to get to you because they don't have that many people on the floor. The staffing is kind of lacking; they could have more people on the floor at certain times -- mainly at night and between 3 and 11. During the day, sometimes they don't have but three people on the floor. The people they have that do their work are good. They just need more people. We have parties, they do have a DJ that comes, and every once in a while, we have cookouts. We have a computer room, which the computers are very slow, but there's the computer to who is going to need it. We have entertainment sometimes, church service, and Bingo. They take us on trips, like I am supposed to go shopping on the 7th -- which is just something I like to do -- and they've taken some people to the Yankees game. On Saturdays, they have continental breakfast, they've had some activities for Mother's Day and Father's Day, while Christmas is more like you get to see the Christmas tree lighting, and we get a special meal, but the food here is sometimes horrid. We do a lot of activities. If we need like crossword books, we can get them, and they have a library here. If you want yarn or anything, they'd buy yarn and bring it here, and you can crochet. We make bracelets, as we have arts and crafts and things like that.
