Mom is at Life Spire Assisted Living Rio Rancho. I like that it does not have as many residents. I was looking for something small for Mom and they had an opening at the time. We were in a hurry to get her somewhere and because it was very expensive in Santa Fe, we went ahead and chose this one for her. They only have room for 30 residents and I don't even think they have the 30 residents right now. They have a lot of activities. They have a lot of painting, coloring, arts and crafts, and exercise. Every time I go there, they're always exercising at about 10:00 in the morning.

Life Spire Assisted Living was very clean, but it was too big for us. They had a big cafeteria style dining room. They had like 30 rooms, 15 on each side, but the look of it was clean. The little living area felt more like a hotel or a bigger facility rather than the small community we were looking for. It was very sharp looking. It's pretty, but not a match for us. I thought it was cool that they had a reading nook down the end of the hallway. The reading nook next to it had a built-in bird cage that had canaries in it. You could sit there (there's a little table and two chairs). It's a cafe set up so you could sit and read right there and watch the birds. I thought it was really cute. The lady that toured me showed me things and answered questions. She went above and beyond the call. The room was an adequate size. It was nice, and it had a window, so the room was all right. The place was pretty and clean.

Life Spire Assisted Living - Rio Rancho, NM was very clean. It seemed like a friendly atmosphere. The workers were encouraging the residents there. We were there when they finished lunch, and a lot of folks moved into the common room to watch TV. It was a home-like atmosphere. There were around 40 residents there and we only saw two caregivers for 40 people. There may have been more people there, but we just didn't see them. The rooms were very nice. They were well-decorated and maintained. Each room had a shared bathroom with another room. When we first got there, they were not aware that we were coming. We waited for a few minutes for the manager to get there, but they were very apologetic. It was all a good atmosphere and a good attitude towards it.

I really like Life Spire Assisted Living. It was really nice. It was clean. Some of the rooms were really nice sized. It looked like a really good place. That was my second choice. I would recommend them. However, I think you would have to furnish the apartment for your loved one, so that would have been hard. The staff member who toured me was very good. The outdoor area was a really nice area. They had one area that they showed me where the patients could go out and walk and do whatever they want. They could sit outside and enjoy the day.

Life Spire Assisted Living - Rio Rancho, NM was a nice, clean facility. It's just a little dreary. It didn't seem like people were having any fun. There weren't any activities going on for them at that time. They were just sitting there and watching TV. The accommodations were cozy. It's nice that they allow pets, as long as they have all their shots and are up-to-date with the vet. They allow you to bring your own dressers, if you like. There are Jack-and-Jill bathrooms. They also have private accommodations. It was nice. It's just my mom was a little shocked by a scene she saw with the facility, that people weren't really having a lot of fun. What's important to me is keeping people active, because if they're just sitting around all day, they get depressed. The staff during the tour was nice. I didn't really meet a lot of the staff. There wasn't really much to really see. The facility was clean. I understand the reason why they keep the front door locked, but at the same time, if something happens or if I need to get to my mom right away, it kind of sucks. I have to wait for staff to come out and get me or come to the front door. I don't like that aspect. I like being able to walk in the lobby instead of waiting outside in the cold while I'm waiting for somebody to get to the door -- because it took them a while -- but I understand they have to keep it closed for the seniors, because they don't want to have to issue a Silver Alert. They need to improve the activities overall for the residents, getting them more exercise, getting them active, so they're not just sitting around and watching TV, especially now it's getting colder. That would be the biggest problem I saw when I was there.

We chose to have dad at Life Spire Assisted Living-Rio Rancho, NM, because of its location, the friendliness of the facility, and their staff. We also like the fact that my dad has options, whether or not he wanted to have a cigarette, that he can do it in a safe environment. He's got a private room in the memory care and it's very nice, spacious, and clean.

We toured Life Spire Assisted Living - Rio Rancho, NM. The outside of the building was very, very nice and very well-kept. They had a water fountain off to the side. The front of the building was very appealing. We had an appointment but when we arrived there, they didn't even know we were coming. They had no clue. It was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had in touring. I would never think of taking my mother there. The people were sitting around in different areas. There were people in wheelchairs, and two people were sitting in a chair asleep. No activities were going on at all. There were staff members that were on break. I don't know what they were doing, but there were staff members sitting in two chairs talking to each other and eating potato chips. The person that gave me a tour was the director (I'm not sure). She was more interested in wanting to know what my mother's assets were. It seemed like to see if she could afford this place. She asked me pretty inappropriate questions about my mother's assets. When I asked for information, I didn't get not one piece of paper. Not a folder, not anything. She said that she didn't know the prices and that they changed all the time. I asked her for an activity calendar and a menu calendar, and she said that there weren't any available. She tore off a piece of paper and asked me to write my email address where she could send me information, and that was about four weeks ago, and I've yet to receive anything. It was a horrible experience there. I would never recommend anybody to go there.

I liked Life Spire Assisted Living, but it's too far for me to consider. They seemed to be knowledgeable about all the people that were there and seemed to be willing to accommodate them. The woman I talked to was knowledgeable and seemed very serious about everything, so I thought she was quite good.

We toured Life Spire Assisted Living - Rio Rancho, NM. First of all, it was a lovely setting. It was quite clean, which is important. It was roomy and it didn't feel like you were in a hospital or anything like that. It was spread out very nicely. The tour was informative and professional, and we enjoyed the place. They had everything from television to a game room, and they have music, too. So, there are always plenty of things to do, it looked like. There was one person who did the tour, and then we also met, I assume, the manager there. She was very nice and very informative. She answered several questions we had. The gentleman who gave us the tour was very courteous and patient. My wife has dementia and doesn't move well and he did quite well with her. From everything I can see, it certainly set some high standards. It was tidy, as well as clean.

We looked at Life Spire Assisted Living Rio Rancho, and it was very nice. More people there have mobility, so they can go to activities and do different things. They won't accept my uncle because of the fall hazard and the two-person lift thing. The place was very clean. People were not screaming and yelling, and they seemed very happy. It was a very nice place, but it's just not accommodating for him. The staff was very nice, very friendly and very informative. They had movies. They had a little library where people could go to look at books, and they have game nights. The building was very clean.

What I liked about Life Spire Assisted Living was that there were only 30 people. I felt that my mom would have gotten the care there because it was so small. The woman in charge was the sweetest person. She was nice, showed me around, and talked to me about what I could afford. I fell in love with the place right away. The residents there were so warm and friendly. I felt comfortable even just looking at it. The facility was excellent and very clean. The residents sitting in the living area were all nicely combed and dressed. They all looked so happy. I was very happy with the place.

Life Spire Assisted Living - Rio Rancho, NM was beautiful. It's clean and I liked it. The apartments were nice and spacious. One thing I liked about it was that the TV was on the wall and not on a table. Lynn was very nice, very knowledgeable, and very sympathetic to what I'm going through. She was lovely. The dining area was very open, which is good for people that use wheelchairs or walkers. Everything I saw was clean and up to date.

I went to Life Spire Assisted Living. They had a one-bedroom apartment. It seems like their clients there are more needy, someone that really couldn't do very much. It was clean and comfortable. The residents seemed a little more geared towards being taken care of. If you've got somebody who really needs a lot of care, I think it'd be great. The staff was fine. It's nice and very clean. They have activities, but I didn't see any. It was a very quiet time. They were watching TV. It's very safe.

Life Spire Assisted Living is gorgeous, and it is awesome. It looks like a hacienda type resort with a beautiful wooden gate. I met with Chris, the young man representing that place, but because of Covid-19, we couldn't go in. So they opened the front doors, I could see the lobby. It looked like a resort hotel. There were people either on the recliners or in their wheelchairs. Some people were sleeping, and they had a big TV on. I could see the dining room, and it was gorgeous. It was like a 4-star restaurant. Off to the side, there's like a snack area, and there's somebody that maintains it from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. If they want to come down and get a snack or something, there's somebody there to give it to them. You can have pets there, but it depends on the type. You might have to pay for the pet. We went into this room, and it is perfect for my husband. It's even bigger than the bedroom he has now. They'll replace the cable provider for the cable TV, and he'll have his own central air/heat thermostat. He would have a walk-in closet. He will have a really nice bathroom with a walk-in shower, and he will have a chair and a hand-held shower. They had beautiful patios with umbrellas, chairs, and tables. It's gorgeous. The staff was so nice. They're in charge of handling the paperwork when people come in and apply for a room. He was a joy, and he was so nice. They answered all my questions. They gave me printouts that I could take home to study on my own. I did not feel pressured or rushed. We were standing in the door and what hit me was just this fresh smell. It smelled clean, and that's the only way I could say it.

We took a tour of Life Spire Assisted Living for my uncle. They just opened the door, and you could look in to see the common area and the cafeteria. They had one room that we went in and looked at, so we could have an idea of what it was. Because of the Coronavirus, we didn't get to see much of that place. It was fairly nice, and a fairly new building. I would say the rooms are small but sufficient. They had a refrigerator in there, they have a kitchen cupboard and sink area, and that is all part of the studio apartment. They have a fairly large bathroom in there. The one who assisted us was very cordial, and she had the information we needed to hear.

We chose Life Spire Assisted Living for my sister because of the people that I spoke to there. They are taking care of my sister very well, and the staff has been very nice, and very helpful. They've bent over backwards to help me to get this arranged, because I couldn't travel there due to COVID. It was all done over the phone and it was a very nice experience. The activity level there is minimal, but it's a good fit for my sister, because she's not a very engaging type of person. The one who runs the site, Lynn, was very helpful, and just great to work with. In the other sites that I looked at in Albuquerque, they were much more urbanized. Several of these locations are by the hard lane highways, but Life Spire Assisted Living is more of a residential area, so it's a good location.

I like Life Spire for my father. The rooms are clean and acceptable. However, they don't have a designated place for activities. It's too small for that. They have a lot of activities for the residents everyday. They don't have that many amenities, but that's why the price is a lot cheaper than other facilities. They have a TV room and a living room. I like the place because it's small and the people seem to be very professional. They were all very courteous and friendly. Even the people that live there looked happy.

My father has moved into Life Spire Assisted Living. We chose it because they have a lot of people with the same disease so that he is able to communicate on the same level. The staff members are really friendly and helpful. Their rooms are nice. You can take your own furniture in or they have furniture for them. The grounds are very impressive, very nice, and very clean. They are well kept. The food is very good and home-cooked.

We really liked Life Spire. It is just that it is 80 miles from where I live, so it is not far, but I wish I could find something closer than that. The place is awesome. The kitchen and food are awesome. I did two tours; I did one, and then I went back and took my sister and my mother with me. It's got everything that I would require for my mother. It is small, which is what I like about it.

Mom is doing well at Life Spire. It’s well maintained, has good food, and has good care. I think the atmosphere is chaotic. Their activities are suited to their level of abilities.

The persons working at Life Spire didn't know anything about us coming, and they were in the dining room talking to each other while the people were in the living room doing nothing. I definitely wouldn't take my parents there. The bedroom we saw was very dark and gloomy, and I wasn't impressed at all.

I visited Life Spire about a month ago, and it’s a dementia facility. The staff seems very caring, and I was happy to see that they were redirecting the residents instead of correcting them if they were confused. It was very clean, everybody seemed to be engaged in activity, and it seems like a good situation. The environment and the rooms were very nice. It’s the main place that we were considering, and one of the main thing was the person who gave me the tour was really very kind. It was a good experience.

Life Spire Assisted Living was a very nice facility, modern, and very up-to-date facility. I believed the rooms had private or shared bathrooms and you only had two residents for one shared bathroom, plus private rooms with private baths. They had a nice open area in front and a dining area. The rooms there were exclusively studios and did not have any kitchen. They had laundry services and a community living room set up when you walked in the building with a huge TV and a sofa. The facility was very nice. They could improve by lowering the prices. It was homey and smaller than a lot of bigger facilities in town.

I didn't like Life Spire. When I had talked to the staff member on the phone, I had gotten the impression that they had more high-functioning patients or tenants, but they actually had more dementia patients, so that wasn't good. The facility was very clean and modern, but it smelled as I walked in. Somebody obviously needed assistance and wasn't getting it. They had rock music playing. It was just crazy. It was not a good choice.

My daughter thought Life Spire Assisted Living Rio Rancho was a good place for her dad, but they had dark-colored paint that was a little depressing. Even though the staff was very appropriate and positive, we probably would not use it. I saw a lot of the residents were asleep and unattentive, and I felt really uncomfortable watching them.

Life Spire was wonderful. That’s where I was going to move my mom, but she passed away. It was wonderful. They had their own room. Some of them shared a bathroom, which was completely wheelchair accessible. They had a ratio of 1:7 staff to patients, and it was cheaper. It was really good. Life Spire was the best that I saw. Their dining area was really cute and their kitchen was open 24 hours a day. They don’t need to improve on anything. In fact, right now they are full. The price was excellent.

Life Spire was new and very clean, but there was some miscommunication with the appointment. We got there, and there wasn't anyone there to show us around. We had to wait until someone got there, and they said they were completely unaware of the appointment. It's a little bit farther from the house where my mother is now. The lady who was the activities director started showing us around before the main person got there. Everything looked very nice, very spacious, bright, and open. The big drawback for us as far as taking care of my mother was that they did not have a nurse at all times, just an on-call nurse. My mother is diabetic and takes insulin twice a day. That's a negative based on my mother's needs, not a negative toward their facility. The activities director was doing an activity about Thanksgiving in the large living area. The people were moving around quite freely. They had the whole place locked down, sp it was very secure. The people can lock the doors to their rooms, so people can't wander in and out. The caregivers and the staff can go in and out, but if they don't want to have someone wandering in their room, they have that option.

When I first walked in at Life Spire Assisted Living, the woman told me I don’t have an appointment. I was not welcomed at all, unlike the others I visited, but I liked it. It was homey. It was a small community, so I felt that there would be more one-on-one situations. It is not easy to find this facility, in terms of location.

We apologize for our introduction, we appreciate the opportunity to have tours led by our community liaison or a member of our managment team, just as you said , we would hate to take a caregiver off the floor from providing valuable care with our residents on a 1:1 ratio to give information that would not be precise or comprehensive. Our location is in a comfortable quiet neighborhood enjoyed by our residents which does not have good Main Street signage, per zoning. We will attempt to increase our presence via online maps and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you . Please do not hesitate to call me for personal assistance.

Life Spire is the one that we like the most. My dad is there. They are great. It is closer to residences, so it is more convenient also. The rooms are fine. I like the room my dad is in now. We have been over there many times while they have been eating, and we have not eaten the food, but my dad seems to like the food just fine. They have activities, but my dad can't see too good, so he can't really be involved in much. The Mexican state fair was held there recently, and they had a state fair day there. They had some entertainments, they had some drummers and stuff like that. Also, the staff has been great. They're very good. I like all of them.

Excellent options in private areas which are clean and roomy. Staff is friendly and very caring. All staff are cognizant of the individual needs of each person. Extracurricular activities are offered and encouraged.

When I first toured Life Spire and met Carol Lynn and James, I knew this was the right place for my Mom. They are the managers of this locally owned business and during my initial meeting with them I immediately understood they are very caring people. The online pictures do not do it justice - it is a much more beautiful and secure facility. It is new, clean, spacious and the courtyard and the fountain provide a nice outdoor space for relaxing. Carol Lynn and her staff provided excellent care for my mother during her last years of her life. My Mom didn't eat or sleep well and Carol Lynn and her staff made sure she was getting food that she enjoyed whenever she wanted it. My mother also didn't sleep well and it was nice to know there was always someone she could talk to during the night. The night staff treated her so well, making her the snacks at night, providing conversation and companionship. I highly recommend Life Spire Living for anyone looking for a safe, secure, and loving environment. Carol Lynn and James have a vested interest in the success of Life Spire and it shows.

It's been 8 months since my mom passed away in the loving care of this assisted living home. Everyone at Life Spire is compassionate toward the residents and at the same time they are skilled to care for them appropriately. I spent a lot of time visiting my mom and observed how loving the staff was with all of the residents. We were permitted to bring my mom's own furniture in which made her experience much more familiar and homey. The food is delicious and the activities they provide were great. Carol Lynn is exemplary in her knowledge of the insurance system and patient care. I would highly recommend Life Spire to anyone looking for an upscale, loving environment, which provides excellent patient care for their loved one.
