We've already chosen Stein at The Oscar & Ella Wilf Campus For Senior Living for mom. It's a kosher Jewish community. It looks very clean and very homey. It's a nice community. I like the fact that they have different tiers. They have different types of housing depending on the individual wants, needs, and affordability. I also liked that they have a tier one, tier two, tier three level of care, depending on what the person needs at different times. I like that they have a lot of services where people can engage with each other. They have some memory care there as well, which is important. It's also a great Jewish community. There are religious prayers and things like that. They have something set up where she can go to her synagogue from that center. Mom has a lot of friends who are there, and they love the meals there. It is all kosher meals, which is a big thing. Based on her friends' reviews, my mom's opinion, and also just talking to them and seeing the facility, I would give them a five-star rating. They seem to do really well, and the people there seemed pretty happy. They are constantly working towards providing them with activities and things to kind of keep them excited. They keep them looking forward to stuff, which is important, especially when you haven't been feeling well. I haven't interacted a lot with the staff, but they're very nice, very knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions (mine and my brother's). They were very accessible to talk to, but I haven't worked with them with my mother yet. So far, they've been very kind and helpful. They really were easy to talk to and explained everything. There wasn't any confusion. If we had a question, they answered it completely. My initial assessment is good. The facility looks great. I didn't see anything that that made me worried or anything like that. They have a good number of choices from something smaller to something bigger to two-room apartments. It's a pretty nice setup.

The Martin and Edith Stein Residence was also very nice, but there was a waiting list. It was clean, the people were very nice, and I have nothing negative about it, but I didn't really dig into it because I didn't have months to wait. The people seemed happy, they went on trips, and it was a nice place, but it didn't really matter at that point. There were a lot of activities, and the people were very active there.
