CareOne at Somerset Valley looks very good. The staff is very good, caring, and thoughtful toward my mom. The dining area is clean and has good food. They have activities like bingo, different ball games, and some small shows. She's enjoying it all.

The memory care floor at CareOne at Somerset Valley smelled like pee and they had no variety in living quarters. It's only studios. The studio was a nice size and everything, but it's only for single people. There is no way two people can stay there. They said that we could take two studios across the hall and that they might work on the price, but when you have two studios, you pay two single prices. The staff was very nice though.

We feel that CareOne at Somerset Valley was too big of a place for what we're looking for. We just went there to look it over, and they suggested that my sister go on level one. I think it would be good for a more social person, but she isn't a very social person. It was a very nice facility, but for our needs, we're looking for something smaller. The rooms were very sufficient. They gave everyone what a person would need. It was clean, bright, and cheerful. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful with their questions. We did not try the food there, but the dining area looked very pleasant.

My ex-husband stayed at CareOne at Somerset Valley in respite care for 10 to 20 days. The community was very nice but it had more of an institutional feel to it. The staff seemed to be very attentive and capable individually but as a whole, there didn’t seem to be communication between the different departments. My ex-husband was in a large room but he was by himself and the cafeteria was a regular dining hall with nothing special.
