Ave Care was very nice. The only thing that I wasn't crazy about was that the bathroom was not right in the room, instead, the residents have to share. However, the atmosphere was friendly and family-like. It was really nice. The residents are allowed in the kitchen and they're allowed to help out if they want to. I thought that was very nice.

I like Ave Care. It is a little bit more inexpensive. It seems to be run by a couple that seems to care. Also, it is small. That’s probably my first choice at this point.

My Mom had been suffering with Dementia for many years. For the last 2+ years we had thought we found a nice facility but it turned out to be just the opposite. As the saying goes "You can't judge a book by it's cover". Our entire family visited often and were fierce advocates for Mom. It was hard enough to see someone with such a bright creative mind deteriorate in such a way, but even more heartbreaking to see her getting inadequate care with little stimulation and interaction. However an angel was up there one day and as my sister was driving home from work she heard a commercial on the radio about a new facility in Newton called Ave Care. My wife and sister were so excited and when I got home, before the jacket could come off, I made the phone call to Greg, the president of the company. We went the next morning, took a tour and could hardly contain our excitement. Once the whole family was on board we moved Mom into a beautiful room in this small facility with an atmosphere that felt just like home. The residents were folding their laundry, making cookies, and doing all sorts of activities. Greg, Baby and the entire staff as well as the residents quickly became like an extended family to us, and the staff provided Mom with the love, attention and care that we did not feel would be possible after past experiences. Unfortunately Mom's health took a turn for the worse and she passed away recently. However the last 3 months of her life at Ave Care were like a heaven on earth to us and I can't be more thankful to them. I recommend Ave Care without hesitation.

My mother now resides in Ave Care at Newton. We chose this because it was close to us and the amount was good. This place is a lot smaller and more personalized. Mom has been there since August 31st and I think she's happy being there. What I like best about this facility are the people that work there. The staff is great. They're so caring. Food is also good. For activities, they bowl, they play bingo and scrabble, etc. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
