Not sure why they give the people here a call bell. You call the nurse and nobody even answers. My Dad waited 2 hours for someone to come in to check in him. The night Nursing Supervisor won't even come talk to people when they aren't satisfied with their care.

I'm still in Preferred Care at Hamilton. I can think of a lot of ways to improve it, but by and large, it's acceptable. I like the people the best. I would like to improve the food quality; sometimes, it gets here cold. I would like to do more outside activities. I go outside with my family when they come here, but besides that, I don't go. I'd like to be able to get out more often. The food is average at best. The staff is attentive, but not too attentive because they're not in your business too much. If I were to need any help with anything, they're always here. They have a physical therapy room, which is good. I don't need it, but it's fun to be in. The staff is friendly, cordial, and efficient. My room is clean, and I share it with somebody. They have a small courtyard, but it's surrounded by the building and it's not that elaborate because there are no gardens or anything. My insurance is taking care of the whole thing.

Dank dreary and nursing staff inattentive my 75 y.o. Night shift left her in a hospital gown, stuck on the toilet for an hour, forced to lay flat when she couldn’t breathe! Just to name a few issues. Mother was found, 18 hours after she arrived, alive but unresponsive. Dialed 911 Thw hospital took an entire week to restore her back to health. Beware the inattentive, un sensitive night nursing staff. Someone should call the Dept of Health.

My loved one was in Arcadia Rehab Center. It was well run and clean and had pretty good and caring staff. The grounds were surrounded by a parking lot and the location was very handy for me to get there. He wasn't happy with the food because it had too much broccoli and carrots.

My mom stayed at Arcadia. I was happy with them, but my sister was not. There was some confusion there with her care. She was happy in a room that she was in. They moved her wherever she felt she needed to be if she was not happy with her neighbor. I thought they were really good. Then, she went to the hospital, and when we moved her back to Arcadia, they put her at the end of the hallway where she had very little care. She was not happy there at all. They moved her back into the hall where she had been, and she was happy again. I was happy with the office people and the caregivers, too.

Arcadia Nursing is newer, and it has nicer types of rooms. But at times, the rooms don't really mean anything if you don't have the environment. It just seem like people weren't concerned. I'm sure they are, but it just didn't seem like they were right on top of things. A couple of times my father-in-law was just sitting there and needed to be changed, and nobody was around, and we had to go get somebody. You always had to go and get the staff for something, or you're constantly asking questions about things. And they will always go, "We'll get back to you." From what I had seen, it didn't seem like they had a lot of things for the people who were in there. They had basic things, but nothing over and above to what would have made anything better. There wasn't too much I really liked -- maybe the parking. I know they're professional people, and they're trained, but if you said something to them they looked at with you like, "You know what, you don't know what you're talking about. We're trained for this, and you're not." And I know sometimes family kind of overreact. But I have been through this with my father because I lost my father, and I lost my brother, so it wasn't something that I wasn't aware of. It just seemed like they listened to you, but that was about it.

My mother is currently staying here and i am happy to report that the nurses take great pride in their work and make sure that the patients are comfortable at all times. My mother seems to be happy at this nursing home because of the excellent staff. They even organize activities such as bingo and movie night.
