The Bristal Assisted Living at Englewood was very modern and comfortable. The gentleman that did the tour was extremely helpful and very informative. The dining room looked nice. They have an outdoor area and many activities that were geared toward cognitive assistance in memory care.

My mother is at The Bristal Assisted Living at Englewood. I think the best feature is the food and the appearance of the facility is very nice. They've got very pleasant surroundings. The problem at The Bristal is if you need a high level of care, it's inadequate. I had a very good quality fish with rice and sauteed bok choy and that was good. They usually serve fruit and a salad with dinner and some kind of dessert. I tried a few different desserts, and they're all good. My mother is very bedridden and in pain a lot. She can't go to the activities, but I know that they have a wide range of activities. They have movies and games. They also come with therapy for my mother, which is good for her. If my mother didn't have a great need, I might give it a rating of five, but because she does have a lot of needs and it's not being met very well and I feel that they're understaffed in terms of the aides they have there, I would say it's a three. My mother's paying close to $9000 a month and she's not getting adequate care for that money.

We had a great tour experience at The Bristal Assisted Living at Englewood. They provided all the information I needed and were very thorough with their tour. They restricted the access to places where the residents would actually reside, which reassured me that my father wouldn't be in a situation where he would be exposed to other people. Anyone who goes into their facility is required to undergo a two week quarantine, and anyone that's touring the facility would only get to see specific model rooms, so you're basically restricted from going anywhere that the residents normally went through for traffic. The residents were very well protected from or isolated from exposure to coronavirus by the staff and their process. It's a five star facility. It's brand new, only about two years old, and has everything that you could want in a modern facility, with the exception of a pool. That's the only thing that they didn't have. It's top of the line with every aspect of assisted living and the staff was very attentive. It's definitely a great place if you can afford it since it is an expensive place. The facility was well designed and well laid out for easy access to the dining areas and other facilities, including having multiple theaters, multiple activity rooms, and an exercise facility. They have onsite medical facilities, including dental, a barber shop, and a beauty salon where they actually have staff that comes in and can provide haircuts, washes, everything that you would get from a beauty or barber shop on site. It also eliminated a lot of the concerns because doctors from the local hospital actually go to this facility and provide medical care onsite at least twice a month for many different professions. They have an endocrinologist, an elder care doctor, and several general practitioners. You can actually request one of the doctors to come visit you anytime you want, but usually they'll make an appointment for you at their next visit, which is usually less than two weeks, and then you'll see a doctor right away. They really have a good medical facility right there.
