I settled on Monaco Ridge because it is owned and operated by a renowned hospital. It is physically and literally attached to the hospital, which is convenient for any kind of medical emergencies. My mom has been there since the beginning of April, and it is typically a new environment and adjustment period for her, which was rather difficult during the first several weeks, but as they suggested, she is acclimating well. She is level 2 care, so they are currently assisting her with medication management, bathing and dressing, as well as with the ADLs or the lesser things such as housekeeping and laundry, etc.

The facility is unclean and the administrator is not vigilant about ensuring good care. The food was fair, the atmosphere is unfriendly.

Overall, I was very satisfied with Monaco Ridge. It was almost like a room and a half with the sitting area separate from the bedroom, so my mom will not be sitting in her bedroom. Their menus looked varied. It was very clean, and I liked the people very much. I looked at their calendar of activities and spoke with the activities director three times. Each time I was in the facility, she made it a point to come in and talk to us. She is very involved with the group, and I was impressed with the things that she put together.

My father-in-law is in Monaco Ridge, and my experience with them has been very good. I would highly recommend them to anybody looking. It's a nice, well run, and open facility, not locked down. It is a part of the Renown Hospital Group in Reno, so it is physically attached to a full service hospital which is nice. If somebody is hurt, they are just double doors away from being in a hospital. It's a really good choice. It was more economic than a lot of the other larger facilities that were offered. They have a full service of events. They plan several things a day for their residents pretty much everyday of the week. The food is good and well prepared. It's quality food. For each meal, the residents are given four or five choices, and it is better than other places.

I had no complaints when we had a tour at Monaco Ridge Assisted Living. The facility was clean and it appeared to be well maintained and well managed. The rooms were large, functional, and easy for the residents to navigate. The staff was pleasant and they seemed to be genuinely concerned about their residents. This is the facility where we were considering moving my mother-in-law before she passed away.
