Care here has apparently declined since recently purchased by Hillcrest which should have been my first clue. Chronically understaffed. Administration has poor follow through with issues. Watch out for paying for extra services. They are not delivered. They are not equipped to handle residents who are not independent. Apathy on part of administration. Activities are available Monday thru Friday. Rooms are nice but you are on your own for cleaning as they only vacuum and empty trash. Direct care staff are nice but overworked. Adminisration is oblivious. The physical grounds are nice.

Silver Ridge was nice, but more expensive. We saw a bedroom with a bathroom, and one with a shared bathroom. You have to bring your own bed. The staff was very informative. They have a beauty shop and a barber shop

I liked Silver Ridge. It’s on the top of my list. They seemed to have a lot of really good activities planned. Everybody was very upbeat. It’s just a bright, happy place. The rooms are very nice. They’re big and well lit, so there is a lot of natural light.

We visited Silver Ridge. They offered regular apartment living with three square meals a day. Then, they offered four different levels of assisted living with the last level being the memory care. The staff was very loving and family oriented. The apartments were very clean, very spacious, and very up to date. The grounds were very nice with an open courtyard that was kept up very nice.

Staff are very rude. I witnessed them harrassing another employee to the point she was in tears. While i was staying for a couple fays visiting my mother (due to the fact i live out of state. I stayed at the facility) other staff were yelling at this poor girl who in my opinion was very nice. She always said hi to me and asked if i needed anything. When my mother would call she answered light quickly and promised to get the medication aid to get my mothers medicine and i heard her go out and ask med aid to come in the med aid stated no she would get to my mother later.... the girl came in and apologize for the wait with tears in her eyes.....horrible facility will be looking elsewhere for my mother
Provider Response
I am so sorry that you experienced that while visiting your mother. There is no excuse for such behavior and I want it stopped. What would be helpful for my staff and I to rectify this problem and ensure that no one else is mistreated or has to witness something like this, please email me or send me a letter. It can be anonymous if you would like. I am very concerned and I would like to counsel if not reprimand this staff member and ensure that the other staff member as well as your mother is rest assured that it will be handled and an official apology is given.
We do not tolerate such behavior. It is unprofessional and you are right, rude. This is their home and they should be able to enjoy it as such. We work where they live, they don’t live where we work.
Thank you for alerting us to this problem. A complete investigation will be done. Lisa Sedlacek-Arp. Assistant Executive Director/Owner SilverRidge Assisted Living

I liked the small size of Silver Ridge. They do have some exercises, pool tables, twist ball, trips to the casino, bingo, and sporting activities. They provide transportation for doctors’ appointments, but right now I’m taking them, and my father can drive, too. The meals are all included with five options. The staff people are very friendly.

I visited Silver Ridge was great. The staff and the facility were great. The rooms were very nice, very clean, and spacious. I didn't taste the food, but it looked good. The dining room was great. They had activities like going to the store, card games, mass, and exercise. I liked that it was well set-up, and the people were very friendly.

I come to this facility often as well as other facilities in Omaha and Lincoln area. This is one of the very few places that I go and feel very welcome. The staff and residents always seem so happy and friendly. No staff member is too busy to sit and talk with their resident and help them when needed. They are always doing some fun activity and I feel they go out of their way to make residents feel like family. It has a small community feel which I love and would have my own family members here if and when needed.

Due to my grandfather’s decline in memory I recently toured Silver Ridge Assisted Living side and their memory side. My grandfather is very particular, so I decided to take him with me on the tour. From the moment we walked in the door we felt like we were home. Lisa greeted us as we walked in and introduced us to everyone right away. I was surprised to see so many residents just walking around and talking to us. I thought that assisted meant that they couldn’t do as much as they used to. Lisa told us that their residents live a very active life style. She showed my grandfather and I their face book page with pictures of holiday parties and everyday events. My grandfather has to have knee replacement surgery in December and Lisa told us that a home health company , would follow my grandfather from rehab back to Silver Ridge where he would have therapy and nursing care until he was independent again. We later met on of the therapist name Caitlynn from Physmed working with a lady and she seemed very nice. She gave us her card and told us to call with any questions. The staff in the assisted living was absolutely great. They were personable and they seemed to really enjoy their job. Due to my grandfathers decline in memory, we also toured the memory units and again I was surprise on how great everyone was. Lisa told us that Silver Ridge would be able to help my grandfather transition through every stage of his life. WE SIGNED OUR CONTRACT THAT DAY!! WHAT A GREAT PLACE!!!

My grandmother seemed to very much enjoy this facility. The staff seemed rather kind, except for several of the nurses who could at times be incredibly rude to both myself and my grandmother. The rooms were kept incredibly clean and a maid service even came once a week or so. The food was decent, served in a large dining hall, but nothing spectacular. My grandmother's room had a small kitchenette, which allowed her to cook small meals for herself when she was unwilling to leave her room. The facility had a gardening area, which was great for my grandmother. Her biggest concern about moving from her home to an assisted living facility was her ability to garden. My grandmother did not partake in many of the social activities that were offered and sometimes she felt like she was forced by the staff to too often interact with other residents. She often attended the ice cream socials, and would occasionally go to the puzzle nights with one other resident. Personally, I found the staff to be very accommodating to visitors. They allowed me to enjoy dinner with my grandmother. I was able to visit with one of the nurses to see how she was doing medically and receive updates on her status as an Alzheimer's patient.
