My friend has moved into Cedarhurst of Des Peres. It's very clean. There was no smell like you get in some places. The people were over-helpful. They would escort us and answer any questions we had. They would talk to us while we were there with my friend. They didn't just drop us off and leave. I had a question the last time because it was a beautiful day and I wanted to take her outside. The gentleman that was in charge came and took my husband and me into a room by ourselves and told us that she would be too confused if she went out of the area. It would take them a while to get her back into being controlled, so I thought that was very nice. My friend was complaining because her room was very big. Of course, she just has a single bed. They have pictures up and stuff. She says it's too big. It's a room by herself. With regard to activities, they had exercises going on when we were there, but she wasn't in it. We just woke her up. She was still lying in bed. But when we were leaving, they had group chair exercises. There was a group of them in the theater room watching a movie, so they had things going on. The last time we were there, my husband started doing jigsaw puzzles, so my friend said, 'Oh, that sounds like fun.' So we gave her a couple of jigsaw puzzles. The building is very welcoming when you walk in. Outside, there is a little patio. I was wondering if we could take my friend out and sit there. But that's one thing I do have against them. It's easy to get to, but it's just buildings around it and no nature at all. And the highway is right there. You can watch cars on the highway, so that's the one thing I didn't like about it.

Cedarhurst of Des Peres was very open and light. They offer a lot of activities. They have a communication app that actually can provide information on my mother every day as far as what she has eaten and what she's done with the day, and that was appealing to us. The unit is a bedroom. There's a small living/dining area and a kitchenette. They provide a microwave and a small refrigerator-freezer. They have a nice firepit area, and they have a garden. It's nice. The person who took us around was amazing. Her name was Christa. She was just awesome. I wanted to place my mom there because of her. She was the executive director. She was passionate about her job. They offered us a meal, but we didn't take them up on it. We spoke with the chef, and we spoke with the nurse. It was a very good tour.

I liked Cedarhurst of Des Peres. I liked the people and the amount of time that they spent with me, explaining everything, They were very informative. I was very happy with it. They even introduced me to someone else in the dementia center and she gave me more information. So, I was pretty happy with whatever I got. I didn't have any questions when I left. I liked the rooms and the little extra things that they do. It's a new building. So, it's all nice, state of the art, and clean. The residents looked good. They were well-dressed, nice, and looked happy.

My mom is at Cedarhurst of Des Peres and so far, so good. It is beautiful. The apartment is big and very nice. The move-in all went very smooth. They were very cautious with Covid in the way that they handle the move-in. We had to wear the whole garb with the gown, the rubber gloves, and a big thick mask. You could just go in a certain way to get her furniture and all in. They were as careful and cautious as they could be. We had lunch there, and it was very good. With Covid, I know things are different, but I have not been able to find out things that they are doing, and that is one thing that bothers me. With Covid, it is just so limited and I did not get a tour. This move was just so fast that I am not sure what they have. I am sure they have a courtyard, but they don't use it this time of the year.

My mom moved into Cedarhurst of Des Peres. That place is wonderful, I really, really like it. I like that it's a small community, they have around 25 rooms for assisted living, and they also have memory care upstairs. They have a wonderful activities director who's new, Andy, he's gotten my mom to go on a bus ride, they get to go and drive around in the bus and look at all the beautiful trees. They also have Linda who is an advocate for the residents and family, so for instance if I have a problem with nursing, dietary, or housekeeping, and I can't get hold of a person, I can leave a message to Linda, and she can relay the information to whoever needs to get back to me. Mom says she likes the food, and the menu looks good.

The facility is beautiful and in a great location with easy access to major thoroughfares. I had a different experience than the previous reviewer. The tour did include mention of religious services in several denominations, including Catholic. They also featured music and exercise programs and all-inclusive pricing. I would consider it for a family member.

The people who gave the tour at Provision were nice and friendly, but they didn't have much to offer. They showed us a studio, but I wasn't interested in that. There weren't any worship services for Catholics.
