NHC has been caring for my Mom for the last 6 months. Dr. Itsy and her team stay on top of her meds and needs and she has thrived. Katelyn and Lauren do an amazing job with activities for the residents and involving the families as well. During her rehab, Hema and the therapy team were invested in giving her great care each day. As she transitioned to full time permanent care, we were concerned that her care level would change, but Justin continued to work with her restoratively. Lori, her nurse, works hard to love and care for her patients and you always see the teams on each hallway working hard with smiles on their faces. Bridget is knowledgeable, available and helpful and all administration does a good job to know their residents and families and support their staff. Jessica in finance is excellent to work with and the team has thorough knowledge of Medicaid processes as well as private pay. NHC follows through. If they tell you they will do it, they do and it shows in the morale and attitudes of the residents and staff!

My aunt has been in NHC HealthCare St. Charles since she was released from the hospital. It was clean and small. It seemed like she would get good care there. Some of the ones we visited were so large, that there were just too many patients. She's being released today or tomorrow and she's going to move to the long-term care side. So far, so good. Everybody's been very attentive and keeping us informed. She said it's good food, and she seems to like it. At this point, she's only been in rehab. The facilities are very good from what I've seen so far. They have an outdoor area for the patients to go to. It had a garden if you were interested in that. It had a little area with animals. It's a busy area right around there, but the home itself is in a more secluded area that it's very close to other things.

My mother moved into NHC Healthcare-St. Charles and she's doing well, adjusting well. I've seen a great deal of personal care and caring, and interest by the staff. We're very pleased with the care that she's getting. There's a calendar there with planned activities every day, but my mother doesn't participate in them.

Many thanks to the staff, caregivers and rehab specialists at NHC. We were so very blessed that my Dad was able to be placed at your facility after his hospital stay. Dad was comfortable, welled cared for, and well fed. About his rehab he said "she worked me hard and was such a sweet girl". The hard work paid off, and Dad is on a great road to recovering at home now. NHC cared for my Mom some years ago. Dad was so thankful to be where things were familiar to him. Being in the hospital with no visitors for 3 weeks due to Covid, I believe the comfort of his surroundings and your wonderful staff is the reason Dad is home and doing so well today. Thank you NHC for everything. Truly grateful, Lisa Kearney

My mother moved into National Health Care of St. Charles for nursing care. Our experience so far has been good. It's going to take some adjustment, but the staff is being very good to her. The rooms there are shared and they're very small, but she doesn't spend much time in there anyway. I don't believe they have options when it comes to the rooms. They're all shared, but can be changed over to Medicaid. They have activities every day, they have bingo, there's music several times a week, games that they play, and they also have church services. The staff is very nice. My mom requires a lot of attention.

My mother-in-law has been at NHC Healthcare for almost a month now. We chose this facility because it was recommended by a hospital. The staff were warm and friendly. They also looked very helpful and very concerned, and they are continuing to demonstrate that. The facility is very clean. I know that they do games and have group sessions. They also have religious services for other people there, which is important to me. She is sharing a room with another person, and she has closets and drawers for her items.

My mother spent 5 full months in this facility. I hope to God we never ever have to return. The Therapists were all wonderful, but do you KNOW what happens at night from the CNA's? Verbal Abuse. They let her lay in her own urine while they all partied and played and got paid for it also. One evening at dinner, my mother did not like what was on the menu. Karl gave her a piece of bread to eat. Yes. A piece of bread for dinner. I saw alot of death that I felt should not have happened. When I left with my mother, she ended up in the Hospital with the Flu and another UTI. I would not recommend this facility. 5/2013

Nhc Healthcare St Charles was a newer facility but they didn't seem to have enough parking space. The road where it was located was kind of busy so there wouldn't be street parking. The facility was very clean and the personnel seemed really nice. However, I wasn't very happy with their memory care unit because it seemed small and crowded. There were too many people for a small hallway. Maybe I didn't like the narrowness of the hallways but the facility was worth looking at.

The care my mother received at NHC was absolutely the most professional, caring, supportive, and the epitome of loving care that I have ever been in contact with. My mother spent almost 4 years here and never had one complaint as to her treatment. The staff is the most loving and caring people I have ever met. Nothing but good and above average marks for the administration and staff. Thank you NHC for giving my mother the best care she could have gotten anywhere. You all are in my prayers.

Everyone we dealt with at NHC was kind, caring, knowledgeable, and informative. The rooms are kept very clean and everyone has a lot of privacy. There was always someone there to respond to our questions or my aunt's calls in a timely manner. The food here is also great and the ice cream parlor on site for residents and their family and friends was a great convenience that provided many happy memories. The payment of Aunt Rose's stay was handled very professionally and all her needs were taken care of. The nurses took the time to talk with her and the other people there and got to know them personally. Though there are many residents, everyone feels welcome and happy at NHC. The providers there truly do want all of their patients to be happy. It's convenient that they have an onsite doctor to take care of the patients who may not be able to go out. And they also had a chaplain who would come in to say prayers with those who wanted to. Everyone there was very accepting of all faiths and backgrounds which added to the comfort and welcome felt by all.

I visited this home a year ago while touring various facilities in hopes of finding a long-term home for a family member. I enjoyed the location of the home; however, upon arrival the facility was lacking a warm, curb-appeal. Within the home, the typical nursing home smell was present. The home had smaller rooms with no private room availability. The nurses seemed engaged with the residents; however, a very strict rountine seemed to be in place. For example, one resident near me asked for a snack and appearently it wasn't ""snack time."" We ultimately didn't select this home.
