We feel that a review is necessary for anyone who is thinking of putting their loved ones at Mcknight Place. There were some nice people doing their jobs at the front desk, dining and maintenance. But the actual care was very poor. While we had our father there for two years, it was a revolving door of employees. No one knew what was going on and management didn't care. Most of the aids were either on their phone or just could not be bothered. Medicine was always left on a table and not given properly. When kindly bringing it to attention the attitude was unbelievable. And management just wanted to have more meetings with us. They also manipulate families into getting private duty care on top of the monthly fee! Do not fall for it. They're doing this so the staff can be lazy. They hire aids from agencies too. While we were there two people that we dealt with were terminated. They leave residents in their rooms to wilt and no one cares. We moved our father to a place that has a much more stable staff and we can have peace of mind. Mcknight doesn't have the capacity to take residents out on outings either. They kept using covid as an excuse. They said they no longer have a van or the people to help. Well get a new van and hire people! Management can do better and the residents there deserve much better. If something doesn't feel right, leave. We didn't feel right having our loved one there and so glad we left.

McKnight Place was very nice. The rooms are OK and alright, but they're very small. It's an older place, but when they have their new building next year, they're going to turn that place into memory care, so they're in the process. The room in assisted living is a good size, but it's just one room -- no living room and separate bedroom -- but it's adequate. The dining area is very nice and designed around a courtyard, so it's really very pretty.

I visit this facility regularly to see a resident. Whenever I am there, I regularly see the nurse's desk, where the call lights go unmanned. As far as I can tell, this means that if a resident needs emergency assistance, and pushes their call buttons, nothing will happen. When a nurse finally returned, I mentioned that the desk was unmanned, and that this meant that the residents could be seriously hurt, and no one would notice. I was hoping to hear him explain that they carry pagers and receive the requests remotely as they are up and about helping patients. Instead, he just agreed that the situation was not good. Meanwhile, while I was waiting to talk to SOMEONE, there was a kind man there in a wheelchair also waiting, and he asked me if I worked there. I said no. I said that I was waiting for someone to come back. He replied, "No one is ever at this desk. It takes forever to get any attention." As nursing homes go, this place is truly lovely from the looks of it. It seems that the people who run the place want it to look lovely, but are not all that concerned with it being lovely, or sadly, with it even being safe for their residents.

The McKnight Place was lovely. If I could afford to live anywhere and I was older, I would live in this facility. It is right in the middle of everything. They have activities like sculpting, painting, and gardening. They also have wonderful entertainment. You can be as busy as you want to be. It was wonderful and always clean. My friend's mother got wonderful care in this facility.

McKnight Place seemed like a very nursing home. Everything was clean. My grandpa's room was private and large, including the bathroom (my mom told me we paid extra for the private room). I ate there a few times and was impressed by the quality of the food. They had a lot of different activities, including movie and bingo night. One time my grandpa kicked us out because he wanted to participate in an activity! They also had gorgeous outdoor space and even an atrium with a gigantic bird cage. That seemed like a really unique thing to have in a nursing home.
