The staff at Dubourg House is awesome. They're very pleasant and helpful. My client's room is very nice and has air conditioning. She pretty much has everything she needs there. They have optional outings every day to places in a van and big outings that are funded because this is an income-based home and everybody gets to participate. The director made the experience pretty easy. It's pretty casual, laid back, and comfortable. The facility is old, but it has been rehabbed and looks nice. The activity director was super helpful with whatever we needed.

Du Bourg House was once a convent that was converted to a senior facility. It is clean and nice though. Their staff is friendly. They have great food. Their rooms are very small. The common bathroom though is down the hall. It is just like living in your college dorm. Their price is pretty cheap. I just thought my mom could have a nicer place. They have activities there for their residents. They have musical groups coming in, they would have scenic drives, and they also do a lot of charity work.

Dubourg House building itself has been a residence for nuns. So it was old and very sparse. Rooms were tiny and bathroom facilities were a shared shower and bath, some distance from the patient's rooms. So it really wasn't suited for a handicap person or somebody that have bladder problems and needed the bathroom. I did see their TV room, library, and they have a board where they have all their activities listed. Although they made it very clear to me when I went in for the interview they said that it was a dormitory style. So they did not polish it up and they were honest about their limitations. I was really satisfied with the interview and the way they answered questions.
