We moved my parents to Pleasant View so they could be closer to our family. We are pleased with the facility and the staff has been fantastic! With their health concerns it has been a weight off our shoulders knowing mom and dad are well cared for. And to top it all off the cost is $3000 less per month than what the previous facility charged, and the apartment is twice the size!

Our experience with Pleasant View Assisted Living has been good so far. The people there are more mobile, which helps my mom be more mobile. I've visited the dining area and my mom said the food is OK. They have bingo and church, and there are more activities than the nursing home she has been to. The person in charge is very nice, helpful, and concerned. My mom is being taken care of well.

We moved mom to Pleasant View, and she's been there two weeks. It's a very nice-looking community when you drive by. It's very clean and neat. The staff has been very nice, and they take care of what's needed immediately. However, the cost was higher than we anticipated.

At this time, Pleasant View is the only assisted living facility in Hannibal, so luckily it is a good one. The building is fairly new and in good condition. There are both independent living and assisted living apartments available. Apartments are either studio style, or with a separate bedroom. Mom shares her apartment with her cat, which helps to make it "home." The staff, in general, is very caring, knowledgeable and conscientious. All medications are administered throughout the day by the staff. Personal care is also provided. (Assistance with bathing, support bandages, etc.) Because my mother requires help with her leg wraps each day, this is important. There are activities every day...bingo, movie night, news updates, poker, exercises. Suggestions are welcomed...my mother started a prayer group on Fridays, which was promptly included on the calendar. All meals are provided in a dining area. The meals may be the single biggest negative about the facility. Mom has found the meals to be repetitive and often boring. Chicken soup has no flavor. Fruit cup is canned fruit cocktail. The same choices appear over and over. Although she gets plenty to eat, Mom finds the food uninspiring. Transportation to medical appointments can be arranged, for a fee. Basic cable television is included. A hair salon is available. Overall, Pleasant View is a pleasant place to live. If I could give it 4 1/2 stars, I would; it just doesn't quite deserve five.
