I went to Crystal Creek (Northgate). My immediate impression was not good. The place was dirty on the outside and loud and dirty on the inside. Their gathering room with their big TV was right there at the front door, and there was a huge crowd of men sitting in wheelchairs watching the baseball game. In order to visit anybody, you have to go past this crowd that overflowed the room and was out in the hall. Also they made comments to people who went by. It was like going down the streets when you're going past a bunch of construction workers. It was pretty loud there. Well, I was surprised that many of the staff members that we spoke to said they have been there for years, and they like the place. So it mustn't have a higher turnover as I would expect in that place. They had bingo and a book club, and then there was this sports group that met for baseball games. However, they need a complete redecorating and cleaning up with their very old-fashioned décor.

The patients at Northgate were unattended, and the place smelled. The staff seemed overworked and were not as compassionate. But the dining area was pretty good, and it looks like a restaurant setting.

I had an amazing experience with the Admissions office at now Crystal Creek not (Northgate.) She was friendly and helpful. I called her late one evening and she even met me at 7am to tour after I got off work. My husband went here for rehab and the therapists did a wonderful job
