We went to Rancho Manor, and I saw that it was very outdated as far as their décor. The colors were dull and old fashioned. The staff that we spoke to was very cheerful about being there. They thought it was a good place, and they promoted the place. I didn’t like their dining setup. It seems crowded.

My life partner was a resident at Rancho, before I brought her home. It is time for her to return as her needs are greater than my abilities. The staff is not faking being nice, they are nice. The staffing level is what the state requires just like it is everywhere else. This was the 4th facility I've had her in. The last place cost 6200.00 a month. For that 6200.00 a month my partner fractured her coccyx, cracked a rib and puntured a lung. Money doesn't buy good care. This after all is a nursing home.If you want 1 on1 care pay for home care, but it is very expensive. I found that between cleaning times the bathroom is generally clean. I have 2 small complaints. 1. The food is not up to par and they don't give salt for the residents to us. 2. Although show times are scheduled, it doesn't always happen.

The facility is not what is appears to be on the surface. Staffing is well below average. Consequently, residents are frequently forced to remain in urine/feces soiled clothing and bedding for extended periods of time. Housekeeping services generally consist of removing the trash and spraying the bathroom with a horribly smelling disinfectant to mask the fact that the bathroom was not cleaned. Severe shortage of sheets, towels, pillow cases resulting in infrequent changing of resident bedding. Laundered bedding usually has feces, urine stains and lingering odors due to use of cheap detergent and washers that are old and barely operable. Due to below average staffing and too many complacent and lazy staff members, residents are frequently not showered/bathed based on the standard staff member statement "resident refused shower." Medication errors by several unqualified staff members is frequent, ongoing, and directly attributable to below average supervision and management.

I personally like the place, but it seemed as if the people who worked there were trying a little too hard to be nice. It was as if they were noticably pretending to be nice to everyone. All the rooms were clean, and all the people living there had their privacy if they wanted it. My grandpa said the only big thing he did not like was he was not allowed to smoke. Which for him is a good thing. The nurses there make sure that they get their medicine, meals and showers on time. The nurses are also on a name to name basis rather then a patient number basis which is one thing I liked alot. Overall I'm happy with how the facility is conducted.
