Seashore Highlands in Gulfport. MS is an excellent place for recovery. I had a stroke and a heart attack and found their menu and entertainment great for all concerned. The only problem seemed to be a lack of entertainment, but they did what they could, however the facility bus sat in the parking lot most of the time. Beth Joachim was the executive director at the time.and actually a RN and we still communicate. Thank you for asking. I am at home now, and a widower. When I went into Seashore Highlands I was first in Memory Care and then moved into Assisted Living. You are kind to ask and I hope to keep in touch. I am mentally very sharp and self sufficient with God's help, and active in the Episcopal Church here in Gautier., MS

I did a tour of Seashore Highlands Retirement Community. It had a very homey feel, it didn't have an institutional feel. It was a little smaller than the other place I visited. For someone that doesn't get around well on their own, that might be a little less intimidating than the big facilities. Everything was in an easy to manage area for someone that was either on a walker or a wheelchair. Everything was very centrally located and easy to get to. The facility was wonderful. It was very clean and very inviting. It also had lovely landscaping courtyards. I also like them because it was one level. It did not have multi-levels, and that was very important to me.

Our mother stayed in the Greenhouse (Memory Care unit) where staff to resident ratio was 2 to 12. Although this apparently met State standards, the two staff on duty staff were also required to cook, do laundry and clean which meant minimal time with the residents. Management wasn't always attentive to our concerns. Minimal activities seen by private caregivers and during family member and friend visitations. After 9 months (Mar-Nov 2019) our family felt it was necessary to relocate our mother

We came across Seashore Highlands through a referral from a friend. It is the best facility for my mother. We're very happy with it. It is new, it is first class, and it is affordable. Also, it is in my mother's hometown. Overall, it is excellent. The staff is excellent. What I like best about this place is the professionalism of the staff. The rooms are spacious. Her room is new, very well kept, and very well appointed. It is a very nice room. They have an on-site cafeteria. They have bingo, religious services, exercise classes, and field trips.

We moved our parent to Seashore Highlands because we wanted them to be close to us and they have the services that we are looking for. Their rooms are divided into bathroom, bedroom area, living area and a kitchenette. They have a bus for transportation. They have indoor and outdoor activities. They have exercises, religious services and scripture studies.
