I'm living with my sister at The Oaks. I have been here for two weeks now. It's a nice place. I would rather be by myself, but my sister needs me now. The people working here are very friendly. The food is good most of the time. For activities, they have bingo, they go out once a month and then they have a bus that takes you shopping once a week. They're starting to do euchre. They have an exercise room. They have plenty to do. They do a very good job with the upkeep of the place. They keep it clean. They have a garden, and you can plant whatever you want. And then they got a track that goes around the whole place that is about a mile long.

I toured The Oaks. It had beautiful grounds and a beautiful building. It's very old, but very well-kept. The rooms are extremely small for independent living. I think the largest was 700 square feet. The bathroom was not ideal, and that's why we didn't pursue that place. I just got a text message yesterday from a person who has just taken over the position of the person I talked to. It's a new person now, but the person I spoke to within the last two and a half years was very pleasant and helpful. They had a beautiful dining room. One on each floor. The facility is so large that they provide you with a valet for the first two weeks there so you don't get lost on the way to the dining room.

I called here two days ago and talked with April and found her to be informative and helpful. Although your apartments are not section 8 or Humana friendly, and I am not able to proceed. I can tell just by speaking with April that she did not judge me for my mother's current situation of homelessness and she was nothing but compassionate and listened to me and even though she doesn't know this but my day was made a little better now because of her. If I'm ever able to refer anyone that can afford those prices I will consider The Oaks.

We toured and it was nice. They had a lot of activities. They had a bus that could take people to groceries and to churches. They had a library and a nice dining room.
