I want to THANK Renee Thursday November 26, 2020 for making it possible for me to visit my friend Carol W. during Thanksgiving eve . I had not been able to see her from her 2nd floor room during this PANDEMIC. And she was recently on the first floor in a room that Renee allowed me to visit thru the outside window. I hope all of you ladies were able to enjoy the holiday with your loved ones as you did for me. Always a stellar job done by the staff at Cambridge North . THANK YOU , Rita A

My grandmother has been in this facility for 10 years. Unfortunately, it has been a HORRIBLE experience. Constant neglect. We have to fight to make sure they get her out of bed, fed, and showered. The lack of communication is awful. It is almost impossible to get a straight answer out of anyone, and that is when you are actually able to get someone on the phone. My grandmother has been sent to the hospital multiple times due to neglect. The doctors at the hospital even said that it was neglect. Patients have/had the Covid-19 virus and it wasn’t communicated to the families of the people living there. Unacceptable!!

Toured the facility. Rooms were clean, flat screen tvs. Pleasant, caring staff tending to patients. Additionally, there were trivia games announced throughout visit, as well as a up to date lobby, visiting area for guests. Administrator provided after hour contact information in case additional questions arose. The facility is centrally located near the major hospitals in the area, in the heart of downtown Clawson, which is a plus, and a deciding factor for families. This is for a short-term stay that I am confident will be a pleasant stay.

Cambridge North Healthcare Center is a basic nursing home with nothing fancy about it. I just don't understand why it always has to smell like urine, which is disappointing. The staff seems very good with my grandmother, but like any place, they're always short-staffed. For the most part, they're attentive to her. They're not very good at communicating with the family about certain events that they have that could involve the family. The activities are mostly done by 5:00. The food doesn't look too bad, but they don't really pay attention to what they're supposed to have and not have.

I am an LPN with Assured Hospice and I have a patient in this facility. What I have seen is a caring, hard working staff. To begin with the staff does not know when we will come in. When I have been there my patient has been well cared for. He responds well to the caregivers. The staff is very cooperative with our staff. The CENAs offer assistance and know how to work with my patient with the least amount of disruption. The Nurses are cooperative when I ask for information. We don't have to search for staff . I have worked in Nursing Homes for over 20 yrs. I have worked in older ones and very modern ones. Cambridge is older but what I see is a clean building. You don't get hit with the smell of urine the minute you walk in the door. I see housekeepers constantly cleaning. Every staff member I have met has been pleasant and went out of their way to be of assistance. My patient seems comfortable with the staff. I will definitely recommend this facility.

I was in Cambridge North Healthcare Center for Rehab. I think the rehab part of it was very good. They're not very good at answering call lights, so you're pretty much on your own. It was very dated, but clean, and the food was not very good. I did physical and occupational therapy.

Cambridge North was referred to us by Crittenton Hospital. I went to visit this facility to find it small and an older building But very clean and full of nursing staff and aids that were very attentive. My Dad having memory loss really needed a place that had lots of eyes on him. The rooms are small but clean. The staff is very nice and always has my Dad up and out of bed , dressed and clean when I visit him for lunch every day. I feel like we are all one big family since my Dad moved there two years ago. They have lots of activities....art, bingo, music, etc. however when dementia is what I am dealing with my Dad doesn't really care about his surroundings ...his is just in the moment. What is best for him is the physical therapy that he gets a few times a week to help him move a bit. I really love Cambridge North and all the staff. They work very hard to help all the patients. A very caring group of people.

I recommend you avoid this facility. It is really poor. They can't treat minor problems let alone major ones. They provide mediocre care for the resident getting a lot of things wrong. They treat visitors like they're intruding on them and will not help with problems. Then there's the billing dept. They have someone running it that never answers the phone. If they do they cannot provide the answers needed. There is frequent turnover.

My mother was in Cambridge North Healthcare Center for about a month after she had surgery on her foot. She was able to have physical therapy there, and they tried as best as they could to the point where she became much more ambulatory. The overall experience here was difficult because they were short staffed, and my mother was not very cooperative. We had to use an agency to stay with her at certain times to keep an eye on her and to help her. It's very old and very dated, and it was not a very appealing place. I respect them for trying to help my mom and giving the best they could given her dementia and confusion. The rooms were very basic like a very old motel, which was not what you expect in a facility. The food was adequate, and there were activities that she could participate in, and they tried to encourage my mom to do bingo once. They were very open, and the care was fine, but it's not a pleasant place physically. It does need upgrading, and I recommend that they be able to have more caregivers.

My sister is in Cambridge Healthcare Center for a rehab. She has been there for three months now. This facility is about 5 miles away from my residence. She has a small room with another patient. It was so small that I get claustrophobic in there. There are two dining areas in this facility. The smaller one is downstairs while the bigger one is upstairs. The one upstair is very nice and they use it for activities. They do have activities there but my sister didn't really get involved with any of them. They would do some stuff and once in a while, they would go outside in their big courtyard. The staff is very good. They seem to be nice and friendly. They did overall a good job for my sister. She is doing fine there.

This was a slightly below average nursing home. My mother is a resident here. We chose the home based on it's reasonable price and close proximity to myself and my father, so we could visit often. My father likes to have lunch every day with my mother. However, we have had many problems with the staff. I often have to come cut my mother's hair and nails myself. They don't do a very good job of bathing her, she seldom eats and they do little about it, and she doesn't seem to be very happy. They leave her in bed all day. She often seems confused and disoriented. They force all residents into wheelchairs, even if they can walk, which seems ridiculous to me- forcing residents to lose their mobility before they need to. The nursing home smells and is not very cheerful. Again, we chose it because of its close proximity. We do my mother's laundry at home because they charge to do laundry. Overall, I'd say Cambridge North is not a happy place. I strongly dislike it.
