This place is phenomenal! The staff is so kind and they go out of their way to treat everyone with the uttermost respect. The place is super clean, the food is great, but that’s not it! The activities this place has is really great. One thing they did that really meant a lot for my mom was they brought animals in quarantine and went out of there to bring joy to their patients! I highly recommend this place!

My mother is at Cedar Woods Assisted Living. When I first went there by myself, Donna was the one who assisted me and she was really helpful and seemed to understand the situation we were in. The place was what I expected, and there were no red flags about it. Everything seemed fine and the staff seemed nice. The residents were smiling and having a good time in the activity room. I was impressed enough with it. They keep the place clean and the staff is very nice. Their accreditation goes a long way toward making me feel comfortable with having my mother there. They are being monitored and they are licensed by the state of Michigan. When I brought my mom in, she seemed pretty happy with the place and has gotten great. They hire new people and make an effort to keep things adequately staffed, even though they are having difficulties keeping staff (like other places do). Some people are new, but they have lots of good, caring staff members who have been helpful and they've been doing a great job. The care they provide and the good protocols they have in place are making sure everybody gets their needs met. Whenever there's a serious concern, they reach out to me as her power of attorney. So, they strike a good balance of informing the family about how they're doing. As things progress and she may need memory care going forward at some point, that's also an option. It's nice to know that we're not gonna have to move her around to a bunch of places to meet her needs. I am just happy with their facilities. They have a lot of things planned for the residents with a range of different levels. Some of them are kind of passive and really can't handle a lot, but they also do more active things. They do some sort of physical activities like chair exercise and sometimes they have multiple things at the same time. Like you can see a movie, but they have other activities going on in the activities room, too. They schedule them with just lots and lots of different stuff to do during the day. Their cost is reasonable and just what I expected.

Cedar Woods Assisted Living was very nice, but I didn't like that the shared living was a room for three. They didn't have a room for just two people. Other than that, I liked it a lot. I liked the people in charge, and I thought it was a very nice facility. Upkeep was good. It's an older building, but it was kept up very well. One thing that impressed me was that pedicures and manicures were included. Also it was just all on one floor. It had some nice grounds and a pretty little brook running behind it. They had a nice big movie room for people to come sit and you could have family members come sit and watch a movie with you if you wanted to. I liked that.

I toured Cedar Woods Assisted Living. I was able to see all of it. They showed me the regular care and the dementia care. I'm looking for something that takes memory care because she has dementia right now. They are somewhat in the middle because their facility is older and sort of dated. I just did a 30-minute walkthrough of it and asked them questions. The staff were very knowledgeable. They were knowledgeable with what they offer, but it wasn't the best facility. The part I didn't like about it is that to keep the costs down, they had two or three patients in the same room. That's the way they did it. It's like they did group rooms and not individual rooms. I didn't try any food. I just looked at the facilities. The facilities are not updated a whole lot. They did have like a little courtyard or something like that. It was all kind of dated like they had been in business for long time. It was nothing spectacular; it's just average.

I thought that Cedar Woods Assisted Living had a wonderful setup. It was clean. The person doing the tour seemed pretty nice. I thought the rooms were set up homier than the other one, which was a little bit more institutional. My one complaint really about Cedar Woods is that when I asked for a patient-staff ratio, she didn't give me a clearcut answer. It seemed like that would be information that would be readily available and open to people who were considering that community. Their interactions were very good. They were professional and friendly. They had single rooms, suites, double rooms, and triple. They offered PT. They had a yard which was kind of different because the yard was surrounded by the rooms and it was all cement, but they provided flower gardens and things of that nature. They had a pretty good theater. The cafeteria seemed open and bright, which I think is important to have a bright setting when eating. They had a daily activity schedule, and I remember they included things like bingo and things like that for the residents to be involved in. They offered me a meal, but we declined. I thought the facility and the rooms were good. They had more of a homey feel than an institutional feel.

We have chosen Cedar Woods Assisted Living. My mom has been there for maybe a month now. The staff seems nice. It's very secure and very clean. They have really nice visiting rooms. They take care of her well. It's very, very secure and right off the expressway, so it's not hard to get to. It looks like a giant square with a patio area in the middle of it. It seems like a pretty good value based on what I know of it at this point.

My mom started her stay in the Cedar Woods Assisted Living & Memory Care three weeks ago. They were so fast. They interviewed her the next day that I talked to them. So that was like a Wednesday, then by Tuesday she was in. They did a real good job. She needed a safe place, and it was relieving for us to have her there. The place just meets her needs because she has memory loss. She's in the memory care unit, and that's what matters. It's all locked down there, which is very good. We still have to call a day ahead for visitation, but that's fine. We have not been able to get into her room to actually see it (which would have been nice), but we accept knowing that they're taking good care of her. I never tried the food, but I saw one meal because they brought it out to her when I had her in the courtyard. She had fish, lima beans, mac and cheese, and a piece of chocolate cake for lunch. She was thrilled. Also having that courtyard in the middle of the place is just a godsend, because I can take her out and she can't go anywhere. Everybody I met was lovely too including the reception to the girls, Donna (who got us in there), and her aides. They have them in a common room every day where they do some activities. I don't know what all of them are, but they keep them busy. I just think they're really nice and they're doing the best that they can. It's only been three weeks and we haven't had any problems. She did fall though while going to the bathroom because she doesn't walk well, but that was at night. She's under hospice, so they called them. It was not a call that they had to go in on a visit. She did not hurt herself, and I saw her that next day. She's fine.

We moved our mom to Cedar Woods Assisted Living and they're wonderful and great. The place is very nice, we couldn't be happier. She's with another lady in the room and they have a very large room. They keep my mom moving when they can. They get her up and get her in her chair. It's been good.

We moved my brother at the very end of February in Cedar Woods. It has been on lockdown for a couple of weeks now, so we only have experienced them for about a month. The people are very friendly. It is a whole lot cheaper than the other places that he was at. He shares a room with 2 other men, it is nowhere near as nice as the other places, but it is better for him. He gets people around him all the time and it is affordable. He seems happy, too. They have a lot of activities, which my brother is very interested in. He wants to keep busy, so it is working out very well. In fact, they just sent me a picture of him the other day with a big smile on his face and a popsicle in his hands. That was nice because I haven't been able to see or talk to him. They're quarantining them to their rooms pretty much but I'm so glad because at least he has 2 other people in the room with him, so he is not totally isolated. It is working out very well. I'm very pleased with it. They have a few private rooms but mostly they have shared rooms. My brother's room is big enough for 3 people. The food is very nice, too. I ate with him a couple of times. They're trying to keep them separated from people, but under normal circumstances, they have a lot of activities.

My mother moved into Cedar Woods Assisted Living. She loves it there, I love it there, they're wonderful, and they love her. The staff is amazing, I know everyone by name already, and it's only been a month. I have nothing negative about that place, and I made the right decision taking her there. I'm there every day when my mom goes to eat, she seems to like the food, she eats it all the time, they have snacks 3 times a day, and she eats that also. I really like that place a lot. She shares a room with 2 other ladies, and she loves them.

The rooms at Cedar Woods were nice. They offer three meals and two snacks, and they have entertainment, people come in and sing, and they do various activities on a daily basis. My parents can have their individual room with their own furnishing like their TV and recliner. They had a theater and a snack shop. The staff I met was friendly.

The setup at Cedar Woods Assisted Living was very nice, and the staff was exceptional. The owner of the community was there, and it looks like he was taking a very active part in making it a good place. I like the location of this community. The staff was very helpful. But the building was a little older.

As a licensed health practitioner and educator, as well the daughter of a very elderly couple; I feel my assessments of assisted living facilities are quite rigorous. Yet after spending a couple of weeks in Michigan, visiting my parents daily at Cedar Woods Assisted Living, I flew home to NM in a peaceful state of mind; knowing my parents were living in an environment that exceeded my expectations. The building itself is clean and well-maintained. The owner and staff make a point of knowing their residents very well and demonstrate attitudes of respect and affection for each and every person living there. As a visitor, I was always greeted warmly and found my questions and concerns responded to quickly. If you are seeking a safe and caring living environment for yourself or for a loved one who needs a little extra support; I urge you to pay a visit to Cedar Woods.

My Aunt is a resident at CedarWoods Assisted Living for 2 years now. I love how well the staff keep me updated on her condition. Their response is friendly professional and the care she receives there makes me happy she is there being taken care of so we'll. I have never announced my arrival and have never found her in any sad way. She is always clean and the staff is wonderful with her. I just want to thank all the employees for the terrific job they do. THANKS for caring . Mary K.

The home is clean and the caregivers seem very caring towards the clients/patients. The entry to the entire facility is secured by a pass code and the Memory Care unit is locked and requires a separate code to enter. On warm days the patients have access to a secure courtyard which is equipped with tables, chairs, and sun umbrellas. It looked very nice and was surrounded by flowers and greenery. The facility has very few single rooms, mostly double and several rooms with four beds. The shower rooms are separate from the patient rooms and they looked spacious and clean. All in all, the facility was not visually impressive but looked comfortable and the patients looked like their needs were being met.

I am very happy with the staff and service here at Cedar Woods. I have searched all over for the best home for my mother and no other assisted living facility compares to the quality of service and compassion shown to its resident than Cedar Woods. My mom says she feels a true home feeling everyday and wouldn't be comfortable anywhere else. Thank you Cedar Woods!

Cedar Woods was OK, but I didn't like the fact that they put four people in a room together for $2200 apiece. It was like a concentration camp. The staff was very nice, but the living situation was the worst. The beds looked like cots, and there are 2 people on each side of the room. That was too many people in one room for the amount of money they were asking for. They were doing some renovations, but throughout it was just like an old nursing home that they're charging a lot of money for. It was clean though.

My Father is very happy at Cedar Woods. The staff is very friendly and my dad is very comfortable claiming it truly brings an at home feeling to him. There have been multiple updates to the facility making Cedar Woods the best possible fit for my him. I have searched everywhere and no price or service compares to what Cedar Woods brings to the table!

My mother is very comfortable with her stay here at Cedar Woods. The staff is very friendly and it is clear that everyone there truly cares about the well being of my mother. I am extremely impressed with the major upgrades that have been done including the new theater room which my mother really enjoys having. I have checked all over and no place compares to Cedar Woods for the work they do, the care they have, and the price they offer.

Wow! all the upgrades are high end. I seen the Movie Theater and I went on a tour that shows the upcoming renovation for the activity rooms, and bedrooms. I must say that the price is unbeatable! My Uncle and Aunt have been at Cedar Woods for about two years now and they loves the staff. I enjoy watching movies with my Uncle in the new Theater room. The place is very clean and I am there a couple times per week. I highly recommend Cedar Woods.

My mother-in-law is at Cedar Woods right now, and it is OK. I think that their administration is incompetent, but the people who work there are very decent and nice. My mother-in-law got there in early March. She cracked her head open on the 9th and was sent to the wrong hospital. When she returned, the first thing they said to us was that it was a fall and no one saw it. Within a week later, she fell again. She fainted, and they immediately sent her to the right hospital where we found out that she had a UTI. The only reason that she had a UTI, I think, was because she wasn’t given water every day as we requested because she hydrates really easily, and so she was there for a week. So in the month of March, she was actually living at Cedar Woods for probably about eight days. So I am not really happy with them right now. But, again, the employees are really nice, and she is somewhat happy, even though they all complain about the food.

I visited recently with my brother Bob. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, and service. The price is truly a bargain. My sister lives out of state and the emails updating us on my Mom are really nice. The updates and renovations look really nice and I hope that the prices stay reasonable for middle class families. I want to thank the staff and management for helping us feel good and confident that our Mom is in good hands.

Great service and best price around. My Dad is getting great service at Cedar Woods. The staff is very friendly, caring, and the place is very clean. I show up unannounced and everything is running well and my Dad is in good shape. My Dad requires changing several times a day and other facilities wanted thousands more per month to do this. Cedar Woods has the best price because they have a mission to help working class families. They work hard for a low price trust me this is a great place and the best deal in this state. God bless them!

Cedar Woods was fine. The memory care unit is just more restricted, she can't just go outside, and there are never enough people. I didn't see much of the activities in the memory care portion. There was nothing wrong with it. It is what it is. I think I was expecting more earthy and more foliage in the outdoor foliage patio place, but it was like a concrete stone patio, so that was a little disappointing. There weren't a lot of trees or grass where they could walk around. The memory care unit was nicer, and they had a gazebo, but they can't go by themselves, so how is any caretaker going to be able to watch somebody to go out there? I don't think they would ever have anybody out there because they don't get to go out by choice. When they do take walks, they take walks around the building, and that's all concrete and traffic; that's no picnic. They don't have much of an outdoor facility place. If they can take part of the parking lot and put some grass and trees, that would be nice. They accept Medicaid, but you have to have assets less than $21,000 including your home, and that seems wrong because you're not supposed to lose your house to put your spouse in memory care.

Cedar Woods Assisted Living was horrible. It was a very sad experience for me. I had an appointment, and they knew I was coming, but the person taking me around wanted me to see how much they interacted with the residents. It was almost like she was putting on a play for me -- which I did not like. I got stuck in the dining room, and it was really sad to watch these people who just looked very sad. I just wanted to run out of there because it was extremely sad. The rooms were all with multiple people, and each resident has a bed, a dresser, and a chair. The floors were sticky. I felt they were not taken care of. I wouldn't want anyone that I love live in that situation.

Cedar Woods was terrible. It was not well-organized. There were things that I didn't think were good. A lot of people were just sitting around looking dreary. It was a very depressing type of place. The rooms were alright. The lady who showed us around was very nice. I don't remember them saying much about activities.

At Cedar Woods, the staff was very friendly and very helpful. It was a very clean facility. They all seemed to be very concerned in looking out for the well-being of their clients. The rooms were nice. The clients were able to decorate them with their personal effects, which is very nice. There was a very upbeat attitude, and I found that even the other clients there seemed to be all content and happy. The food was very good. I met with the chef they have onsite. He would also work with me as far as the special diet needs of the person I was working with. They made accommodations because he was a dialysis patient, and he wasn't there at dinner time three days a week, so they made accommodations for him to have a fresh dinner when he did return. Also they had socializing time. They did some physical therapy type of activities. If they want to read, they could read, and if they want to work with the crafts, they could do that too. I have nothing but praise for this place.

I would not put my mother-in-law at Cedar Woods. That was place was in desperate need of some serious renovation and they had multiple occupancy rooms for their residents -- three and four beds per room -- which I think is horrible. The person who gave me the tour was fine and I got the whole tour; I’m justnot impressed and they must stimulate their memory care unit more.
