Memory care facilities are a type of assisted living facility in Hillsborough County. The Florida Department of Elder Affairs oversees these facilities and requires memory care facilities to obtain a limited mental health license to operate. Additionally, in Florida the staff at assisted living facilities also must undergo additional training through the University of South Florida's Training Academy on Aging.
