Aberjona Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has a 5-star rating. It's a family-owned and operated nursing home. From what my relative said, she loves the food there. She eats it all and it looked good when I was there. As far as I know they have activities for the residents there. She's currently in a rehab room now and they just had an opening in nursing but wasn't moved there yet. It seems good overall and the building itself is excellent.

Stayed one night called my wife to pick me up in the morning. One nasty staff member "not my job" all night, not greeted by a nurse, unsanitary and did not have my medications. Had to urinate waited 4 hours for somebody to come. Nobody did, so i went by myself at the risk of falling. Had a petit mal seizure have warning and are aware nobody came. My room mate to boot kept talking all night and repeated himself several times. I transted nusing homes in the morning,. No assistance leaving no leg rests on the wheel cheer. Worst Experience.

The nursing staff ,aides, and the rarely seen nurses are pretty indifferent to ones needs. The difficulty in receiving ones pain meds on time is the worst as they will not bring them automatically ,the patient has to request them . once the bell is finally answered and it must not be in advance of the time for the dose or they will say it is too soon, it might take an hour or two before you get it. I was supposed to have pain meds every four hours but because of their policies I suffered a lot of pain waiting much longer, one time for two hours, only to be told by the staff member that she had just come on duty. This led me to conclude that there is no one on at night,as I had called at 4 a.m. and finally was answered at 6, which caused me two hours of extreme pain. I had an ice machine which was refilled sporadically and sometimes reluctantly by the few aides that understood enough English that I could tell them how to do it. many of them just walked off and I never knew if they understood or were returning. I was there for rehab after a knee replacement but I saw nursing home residents just sitting, hour after hour in the hall with nothing to do,see or think about. I definitely would not recommend Aberjona.

The staff at night is horrible my wife wanted to jump out of the window and she cried all night because of the rude staff, when she needed assistance to go to the bathroom the reply from the staff member was “what again” I wouldn’t board a dog there!

My seventeen day stay at the Aberjona Nursing Center allowed me to accomplish my personal goals of taking care of myself and allowing me to return home safely. Also, the rehabbing gave me the physical fitness to accomplish my goals. The professional staff overseeing my care and the hard work of the therapy team enhanced my success.

I was a very sick guy and found myself at Aberjona for rehab after my hospital stay. I feel I was given excellent care by the nurses and the N.A. staff took very good care of my needs. The rehab dept . is fantastic and I commend them on the job they do.

This facility has been very comfortable. Everyone has been so concerned about my welfare. I have no complaints about the food or attention that I have received. The nurses have been very considerate and helpful. My family and I have loved our stay here.

My husband was at the AberjonaNursing Center for several weeks after sustaining a spinal cord injury in a fall. He had first had time at an acute rehab hospital. At Aberjona he was seen primarily by the same PT and OT with some fluctuations to accommodate days off. He was consistently challenged and encouraged to progress. His injuries were fairly complex and required a variety of therapeutic options. His day to day care was provided by caring CNA's who have been at this facility for many years. His requests were responded to quickly. Staff here have been thoroughly attentive and helpful. The MD is here regularly and has appropriate coverage to deal with off hour issues promptly.I would certianly recommend Aberjona for our friends who might have a need for this caring faility.

My feelings were mixed about this facility. My mother thought it was a problem that there was little continuity in the physical therapy staff. Since she was not seeing the same person consistently, it was difficult to make sure they were covering all the material and skills they were supposed to cover. There seemed to be little communication among the staff--the PT would tell her it was OK to walk unattended but the nurses would send her back to her room and make her sit down until they could find someone to walk with her. The nurses at night were very curt. (One of them ate food that had been given to my mother as a gift from a friend that had been clearly marked with her name on it.) On the good side, the food was wonderful and the facility is clean. When my mother was admitted they were quick to reach out to me with contact information, etc., and within a few days of when my mother was discharged the social worked called to get feedback on her experience. My advice is to be very clear about what you need and not hesitate to make your needs known. We had some issues but in retrospect I think it was because my mother was not speaking up, and it is hard to fix a problem if you don't know you have one.

Dirty, in desperate need of décor updates. CNA's never smile or respond to questions, used temperature probe covers are discarded onto the floor causing safety hazards and management's resolution is to just pick them up with their bare hands and offer no other resolution.DO NOT even consider this place.

My mother -in-law is in the Aberjona Nursing Center. It's close to where we live and that's why we chose it. The place and the people are very, very nice. The room that she's in is actually very nice, although a bit cramped in one sense, which really isn't a problem since she doesn't get around very well. She was getting physical therapy there for a while, but then the insurance company decided that she no longer needed it, so she's not getting into much activity as possible and she really doesn't join in with the people there all that much. She's a hundred years and a month old, and very fragile. I'm not sure if the food is any better than the typical nursing home, which is basically poor in their food. The way that I see it, she's being taken care of reasonably well.
